Im doing it soon, so ill be able to help a little bit. Im just swapping from my control arms out to control arms from a 97 cobra all the way out. And probably adding stainless steal lines and bleeding the system. I may get hawk pads, but im not sure. Depends on condition of the cobra pads.

There is a guy selling the calipers and rotors/pads from his 02GT for $170. So it can be done fairly cheaply if you look hard enough for the deals.

That write-up on the allfordmustangs website seems pretty complete.

As for the difference, we did the swap on a customers car where I worked, and he was pretty happy with the results....

I've done the cobra's in the rear, which was a bit of a PITA because you've got to remove the axles to change out the mounting brackets so that you can install larger rotors.

I did 13" Baer's on the front, which are similar to the PBR's except I didn't have to grind the spindle... straight forward swap, should only take a couple of hours. The only "technical" part was bleeding the brakes.

The only suggestion I have is to be real careful when removing the ABS sensors (especially the rear), because they break easy and are expensive to replace.

Mucho thanks. I only plan on doing the fronts. I will mess with the rears when I upgrade my axles.

I am not looking for night and day. Just a little better over stock for a good value. Sounds like this is up my alley.

I did the pbr brake upgrade on mine and it is super simple. You just unbolt stock and bolt up the new one. Change over the disks and your done, unless you do the lines too. The lines unbolt and bolt up too, it was super simple. I got stainless lines and the fronts for like $480 from performancepartsinc.com. Just tell them you saw the ad in the corral classifieds and you want the free stainless lines with your brakes.

I did the PBR Dual Piston Caliper Swap.

World of difference...a lot more braking....I also installed 03 Cobra Front Control Arms at the same time.

Simple install for me, I didn't have to grind anything...
