From my experience, if your car is lowered it will rub, but nothing that rolling the lip won't fix.
On stock height it should not rub.

I always toss the quad shocks, first thing to go when I get a Mustang.

The lip he is talking about is the lip just inside the fender, going from the 1/4 panel inwards. there is a pinch weld that needs to be rolled there.

also, the pinch weld that goes from the inner fender to the trunk needs to be folded under the trunk, otherwise it gets caught by the tire and makes lots of noise around corners.

What backspacing are you running, and what do you suppose its rubbing on? Im running 295's on a 10" wheel and they dont rub unless I go real hard into a corner.

Just curious why you toss the quad shocks?

I mean, I know theyre not needed with aftermarket LCA's....but wont that hurt traction if you remove them with stock contral arms?

Never noticed a difference, with or without quads, with stock LCA's. I drag raced both cars regularly.

I tossed the quads on both my cars for two reasons. One, they got in the way of drag slicks and wide tires, and two, they were worn out so bad they wouldnt rebound when you pressed on them out of the car, not to mention leaky. I was upgrading to aftermarket suspension anyways.

They are kind of a band-aid to axle hop (axle windup) with the stock setup anyways.

I run 315x35x17 on the rears. They are very close to rubbing the parking brake line (about 1/4 inch), but they don't. I am thinking about getting 1/4 or 1/2 inch wheel spacers so they will be flush with the outer lip. I am using 1 1/4 inch lowered springs also.

IT unbolts from the frame and the axle. pull your tire off, and you will see what I mean. They reside directly behind the tire.

i have 315/35/17 on a 10.5" wheel. just had to remove quad shocks to make them fit. the backspacing of the rear wheel makes a huge differance whether u will need to roll the lip or not. I dont have to with mine but i forget what back spacing i have. im thinking 28mm but not 100% on that.
