Will a '98 cobra H pipe fit my '96 gt?????

Hi, I am thinking of buying a Mac catted H pipe used, but this one happens to be for a '96-'98 cobra. Will this fit on my '96 gt?? I know they are different part numbers, but I'm just wondering if anybody has put a cobra H pipe of their gt without any major problems. Thanks.

I am wanting to say yes because I think one of the member's here did it. If it doesn't fit it is only going to be because the hangars will be in a different location but if it is from the same model year they should be the same.

Yes. It will. My x-pipe is from a Cobra and it fits perfectly.

I don't remember if they were different. I think they're pretty much the same but I do know that the rear o2 sensor holes had to be relocated on mine cause of the crossmember.

i tried this on my auto and it DID NOT fit.... the hangars lined up different and we couldn't bolt the passenger side down b/c it rubbed really bad against my crossmember.

I don't think mine had hangers :dunno:
actually, it didn't, they welded news one on there..

and yes, i took it to a muffler shop, I know the owner and had it done for free.. much better than being on my back. :banana: :banana:

I had a 99-up H on my car, and had to pull it for the T56, wouldn't fit.

Could it be the difference in the crossover.. between the x and h??

I got the specific crossmember from D&D for my 97, so... it wouldn't clear the crossmember. They actually recomend an X pipe with it, but my BBK H worked fine.
