will a 8.8rear end from a 96ish crown vic work in my mustang as a direct replacement for the 7.5?

will all the arms bolt up, and springs in the same place?

i don't know but you might try calling up a junkyard, they usually have cross referencing books/info

I believe the Vic has a wider trak width. The LCA's are also parallel with each other, unlike the Mustang.(LCA mounts on axle are straight)
It would be a lot of time & work. I would continue looking for a 8.8 from a Mustang.

the rear end is only about half an inch wider on both sides, which doesn't bother me any, but everything else looks to be the same.

I've heard that there were a couple different rear ends in the crown vic, but if it helps, this one had 2.73's in it, but not a posi, I'm going to put like 3.56, or 3.73's in it any ways.
