Will SN95s be classic?

a 1974 toyota corona is a "classic" but, who cares? lol.

too many were made.
they are too slow.
they are not special.
they are the modern-day redheaded-step-child of the mustang world.

I have customers at work calling and asking me when I will sell it. I don't see how it won't be desirable. Atleast my car anyway, I get asked alot if I'll sell it, but it's not happening. The increase in demand creates a higher market value, so I see it as value increasing in general

I will say that 95 GT's being the last pushrod powered mustang period has the possibility of being worth something, purely because its one of the "last of the 5.0" cars. 7500 cash was what I was offered last time, So I don't see how my once couldn't sell it for 3500 dollar car is now worth 7500 to a bunch of folk won't go up in value.

If anything the new edge gt's and new edge cars will be considered classics because they are the refined sn95's, good power, and great looks.

The argument that the Fox's are becoming wanted now so ours will be also doesn't work for me either. The Fox Mustangs are basically the last of the lightweight powerful American cars made. They are easy and cheap to make fast so thats why people want them now....plus they don't have all the gov't restrictions and safety equipment on them like todays cars.

I'm sure our body will hold value to many of us in the future but overall i don't think it would be on the list of many to restore because stock wasn't all that great to start with.

Now like said above the 95 was the last of the 5.0 and if any of them survive in great shape with low miles then i'm guessing they would be worth a spot in a collection.

this is easy...yes they will be collectable, look at all the "normal" 60's cars that are worth alot and sought after now, Fairlanes, Torinos, Galaxies, those cars were merely "standards" and thought nothing of when new. and the late 60's 6cyl couples, those are the equivelant of the modern V6 couples, not exactly what most of us would ever want..........SN95's have some of the best styling most people agree, they can be made fast without much effort, and they are RWD and V8, fairly rare in todays market. I actually have a kid that wants to trade me a 99 Eclipse GST for my car right now, and get compliments almost daily on it, and my paintjob blows and my car is relatively slow.

Cars seem to become classic when after guys and gals get the good job, grow the good family, and do the responsible adult stuff, they yearn for the car they drove or the hot cars on the streets when they were young, and got thier 1st car, license to drive, etc. Then they go and buy that classic Mustang to remind them of the older years. I had mine since it was new. People stopped me at almost every light to ask me about the car, or tell me how much they liked it. Sn95's will definitely be classic. Even if they are not the fastest/most collectable.

I don't think our cars are special enough to be worth a buttload. But they are Mustangs, and everyone loves Mustangs. Ours really arent that special so I doubt they will be expensive in teh future. I mean, I have a 67 coupe. Yuo can find them anywhere for fairly cheap nowadays. I paid $6500 for mine and its in pretty nice condition. Of course, the paint is bad, its no where near stock, and its justa coupe, but it is cool and runs good. I get compliments all the time about it.

I like the looks of a 99-04 Mustang over my mustang, but there is to many out there. I can look in any mall parking lot and see a 99-04 mustang, but dont see a 94-98 body style.

The good thing about the 94-98 is there rare on the streets (out here where i live) and if you see one its some ran down raggly looking v6 or maybe a v8. You rarely see a nice 94-98 and thats what rocks about this body style. Fix it up nice and you got something special.. will it be a classic.. nope i doubt it. The 99-04 i can see being a classic because of the looks, but only if it became rare. =].

You guys that think they won't be desirable are wrong. There were well over 600,000 Mustangs of all models made in 1966. Over 400,000 of those were coups. Obviousely some are more desirable than others. We all want a GT350,or a "K" code car so they are always going to be the highest price.

If the people that bought these cars knew what they would be worth, do you think they would have sold them, I say no. Back in 1982 I had a chance to buy a 1969 Boss 429 Mustang. I thought the guy was insane for not budging on his 10k price tag. If I had any insight as to what the market was going to do, I would have bought it. Instead I thought the guy was nuts and walked away. Here is a list of cars I walked on because I thought the owners were nuts.
1964 Fairlane Thunderbolt -10k
1969 Boss 429 Mustang -10k
1969 GT500 -8k
1966 Mustang 2+2 "K" code -4k
1966 Fairlane GT 390 -4k

The low mileage Cobra may never be worth 500k, but it will be worth something to somebody. You do see the very low mileage Cobra's selling in the high teens. Cars values always go down before they go up.

My Cobra has 166k on the clock and does not have the original engine with the signed data plate. It will never be worth what a low milage Cobra is worth. But it is a Cobra and it is mine.
