desireability is yet to be told only time will tell, now whether there were 100 tyzillion sn95's made or not! there were as many foxbodies made as well, I rarely see them now! these cars were used and discarded due to the fact that there were soo many of them, now 20 years later they are starting to become rare and finding a clean unmolested one is near impossible...

Yeah I personally think that with time these cars will be desireable. I know they arent the best but neither are many other old cars. Oh and sorry I would have put a poll if I knew there would be such a large response

this is easy...yes they will be collectable, look at all the "normal" 60's cars that are worth alot and sought after now, Fairlanes, Torinos, Galaxies, those cars were merely "standards" and thought nothing of when new. and the late 60's 6cyl couples, those are the equivelant of the modern V6 couples, not exactly what most of us would ever want..........SN95's have some of the best styling most people agree, they can be made fast without much effort, and they are RWD and V8, fairly rare in todays market. I actually have a kid that wants to trade me a 99 Eclipse GST for my car right now, and get compliments almost daily on it, and my paintjob blows and my car is relatively slow.

The people saying our cars are worthless have the same mind set of the people in the 60's not realizing their cars would be worth anything. Show of hands wishing they had a mint 69 GTO.... See.

Think about why those cars of the 60's are worth something, because someone wants them.....
The people who are driving up the prices are those who had them as teens and 20 somethings....
Those people out number our generation by like 20 to 1 or some crazy number like that.
That means for every 1 60/70's car available now there are way more people who want it compared to when we reach the age of "i must relive my youth" and there will be far less people buying the cars so less of an interest equals less value.

Someone remember to pull this thread up in 30 years ok.

I think when a car hits its ability to be in a junkyard and restored, it should be a classic. Seems like thats whats happened already with my car.

I think just about every mustang 30 years from its build time w/ low miles and great condition will be worth something. I think for the fact that its the only body style to have the 5.0 engine and for only 2 years sets it apart from the main stream. You can get 5.0's and 4.6's in many body styles spanning quite a few years but only the 94/95 had the 5.0 w/ that particular style. Im not saying they will be collector items but they wont be worthelss either.

Thats what makes me say overall the 94-98's will not be highly sought after.
95 will be because of last year of 5.0
96 Mystic Cobra
95 Cobra R

all year Cobras will hold some value but the GT's are far from impressive in stock trim in all aspects. Thats why i feel the way i do.

Id say the first low number build's of cobra's in 94 and the last ones in 95. Of course I say that b/c I have #42 built in 94 :eek:ccasion14:

But your's isnt 100% official numbers matching :p. I still think your cobra is the most badass though :). I honestly can't see people wanting stock GT's with stock gears, they are just slow! Then again, some of the old stangs selling for HUGE amounts aren't exactly fast either...

They are what they are though. Foxes aren't much different. A 5.0 SN95 is like the luxury sport of the 5.0 world. It's much more comfortable, a little more modern. It's definately benefical to the price, simply because you are in a nicer car. However I'm not taking away from a foxes ability to be a nice car.

I don't think that numbers matching is as big a deal as it once was, especially when our cars reach "classic" status in years. Even today if you look at the '60s muscle, the Resto-mods are bringing almost the same numbers as "restored to original, numbers matching" cars. I don't think you will see our cars approaching the $100k mark at any point. Heck, I don't think you'll see other modern day limited edition cars reaching that point or higher, like the Prowler, Maurader, GTO's...etc unless the sticker price for newer cars at the time are completely out of control.

I think the 5.0 ones will, because the NPI 4.6 is a joke, itll go down in history with the same rep as the Mustang 2. You have to remember they built about a million mustangs a year when they first came out, and people were going crazy to get one. When the luster wore off they were junked, stuffed in barns, left out in fields etc. and people just went "eh, its just a Mustang" Itll take time, more time even because cars last way longer now, but with Obamas fuel economy standards I can see a performance car drought coming again. When you cant buy cars with V8's anymore and every car is shaped like a wedge I think you'll see peoples hearts change.

well the VIN matchs the build sheet for the car and Im sure the # off the engine would match up for all the Engines that were built for the R. Keep in mind there were 255 engines built but only 250 R's produced. Engine #1 was never put in a 95 R but pops up in Ebay up on Windsor Canada from time to time. Its never sold. Im not sure how much these cars will be worth in the long run, it all depends really on what someone is wiling to pay for them. I dont see the GT's being worth anything but the Cobra's yes and the speciality builds. I do know mine was appraised for $20,700 just before I bought it, as far as is that what its worth? Im not sure all depends I guess

I don't think you will have to worry about Obama ruining the car industry long term because at the rate he is giving away tax payer money i don't think he will get a second term.

Droptop, I hope the hell you are right. Americans cant AFFORD 8 years of obama politics. Im not sure we can survive the first 4 at this rate. They are already talking about a second stimulus and you know a CA bail out is on the agenda.
