Will this idea work?

If this will work, it seems to be a little bit easier than putting a power adder like Vortec, Procharger etc.

What if I get the teskid block, all forged internals, 4v heads off of a 03/04 Cobra and either put a KB or the stock Eaton(hopefully to find one ported).

Would I be able to make this work with my GT computer? It'd pretty much be the same as swapping in a 03/04 Cobra motor, but I'm just trying to find out what all the small stuff I will need. Will my motor mounts work? I also do plan on putting a t-56 behind it as well. If this will work, I plan on doing this with my tax return money.

if its a 4.6, your motor mounts should work... but since your swaping motors i would upgrade to poly motor mounts anyways...

the T56 is the cobra tranny, it should fit fine if you do it right, dono about the driveshaft lengths/yolks, but it wouldnt surprise me if it had a different bell-housing.

i highly doubt your stock, npi, 2v, 1996-1998 computer will work with a 4v motor with a blower on it. but im not 100%... but i would say no.

sounds like a hell of a motor, thats for sure! id suggest getting the heads built before you drop them in. That can easily be the toughest and most expensive part of a cobra build.

A lot of people would love to do this but it will take some big $, your tax return better be over 10 grand. If you are serious about doing a big project like this your best bet would probably be just buying a totaled 03/04 cobra and swapping everything over. It would be way easier just to buy a power adder for your car.

yea, a used centrifical kit will run $2,000.00... if you get a prfessional tune, youre looking at $3,000 for a well tuned, well built, reliable, fast car... (that extra $1,000 includes tuning and any other parts that may be required.)

whereas the engine, the heads, the tune, the spare parts, the work, the hours, all add up on the build your talking about....

remember, eventhough our npi cars are slow (dono if you have pi swap or not) they have a lower compression ratio, which means higher boost levels :-D

My tax return won't be near 10k. lol But it would be a good starting point for parts. It's a build, so it may still take me a while. My car is slow as balls, and it's a npi. I will never make enough power from this npi 2v to see the 10's. I don't want to waste money on something that I will never be satisified with.

You need a million small part's from the Cobra that are hard and pricey to get, like the lower intake, the front cover, etc...

There is a kit for like 2500 that allows you to drop a Cobra Eaton, or other Cobra blower, directly onto a two valve though.

Do you think that a KB or Whipple would work with that adapter? If so, I could go ahead and do the PI swap, but while I'm at it just get some type of dished pistons to lower the compression down a bit. Along with rods and possibly a Cobra crank. All this should work with my npi block, correct? I bet as long as the internals can handle it, I think I could possible make 500+ with that set-up even with a just a ported Eaton.

I think it would be easiest to get an 03 cobra wrecked, this way you already have all the parts.

as for the kit for the 2v, thats an awesome kit for the price, and the extras wont be too much, im sure you can find an eaton pretty cheap, and have it sent to be ported.

Yes, your 96-98 computer will work, but it will not be ideal (heard this from Justin @ VMP). Of course wiring up the harness and the ECU from a cobra would be a pain.

You will need a cobra driveshaft, and ALOT of parts you probably haven't thought of yet. I'm pretty sure you will spend well over 10k unless you get the parts really cheap. Don't forget you'll probably need a cowl hood to clear the supercharger, and you might want paint for that too. More money.

Shortblock, pi heads, and a vortech will probably cost you half the price.

I'm actually going to put Eaton blower from Cobra 03 in my 97 GT too.
My friend has a Eaton ported stage 4 or 5, that I can have. What parts do I need with it?
