i have a 95 gt and when i accelerate at wide open throtle the engine sometimes hesitates and through the rpm range it can bog on and off. and sometimes the engine is completely fine. my car mods are K&N filtercharger air intake and the exaust from headers back is replaced (no cats). Got any Ideas?

Maybe a few things... plugs (detonation), fuel pump, maybe try a bump in timing to see how it reacts

try cleaning the maf. the K&N style filters tend to deposit oil on the maf and make the motor run like crap. and a good fresh tune up can't hurt either

Auto zone, advance, etc. sells MAF cleaner. i took mine and cleaned it with a q-tip and alcohol. if you do it this way be very gentle so you don't break the sensor.
I ended up puting the paper type air filter back on. but you can try just cleaning the maf and continue running the K&N filter and see if it fouls again. I would think eventually the oil in the filter will stay put.

If your airfilter keeps fouling up your maf your putting too much oil on it

duh. i bought it with the filter on it. i didn't want to keep dealing with the dirty maf soooo i put the paper one back on. i didn't have a cold air intake on it so it was easy to revert back to the paper.

clean your intake air temperature sensor while your cleaning your MAF. use the same can of cleaner... might as well, since you're there doing it anyways. lol.

also, check/change yoru spark plugs. check your dizzy for corrosion at the contact points. is your car throwing any kind of check engine lights?

yes the car is showing check engine lights but that is because the car has no cats.
