I just got my UPR X-pipe in the mail, for some reason it came with no hardware.
i gave them a call, and they said they'll send it to me right away, so theres no problem there.

i wanted to ask about the installation, its pretty straight forward unblolt the stock stuff and bolt on the new one. but what i really want to know is how does anyone get the lugnuts off the rusty bolts? mine are pretty rusty and i really dont want to break them in the process of putting my x pipe on.

what do you guys think, should i just use a crap load of WD-40, or is there something better out there?

just in case for the guys that have already done this, are there any unexpected problems other than the rusty bolts? what should i look out for, or is that it?

Rusty bolt's is it. Use JB 80 if you can find it, or PB blaster if you can't, and get an 18mm mid depth socket before you start, good luck.

your gonna need a HUGE ass breaker bar... an impact gun will not get the job done on all the bolts. lol. i had a 4 foot breaker bar with my dad holdin it on the ratchet and me pushing the bar slowly not to break the bolt. penetrating oil will be your friend

Sweet thanks guys, i got the socket, and i have the breaker bar, i recently replaced my throw out bearing and had to remove the bolts attaching the stock midpipe to the catback so those have already been removed and put back on once, the only ones im worried about are the manifold to midpipe bolts. which im assuming are the hardest ones since there is alot more heat at the manifold.

thanks again i should have the hardware in by friday i hope, if not early next week and i'll put this thing on.

just whenever you get done driving the car jack it up and spray the bolts with wd40 or pb blaster for a couple days before you start and they will come off like butter. mine did and so did my manifold bolts.

I had a problem with the tray for the 02 sensors that was connected to the stock h pipe. I wanted to use the tray over again but the x pipe was much wider and didn't have any mounting place for it. So i had to go buy some steel and weld it back in.

X-pipe is in, it went pretty smooth, didnt have too much trouble with the bolts. im loving the sound this thing gives off even with just the stock GT mufflers.

thanks for the pre grease idea guys.

guess i am a little late on this but you can use a torch to heat the flange up and the nuts come off easier....just have to be good with the torch is all...and watch out for fuel lines......

Bwahahahaha! Thanks man LMAO :rollinglaugh:

Yeah this is a budget build but i dont want to use crappy parts either, and im doing this paycheck to paycheck lol, so i gotta pick what i buy wisely which is why i am asking so many questions week after week. PI is what im looking forward to the most. i dont want to spend too much money on exhaust stuff, but i hear Longtubes are well worth the money. but yeah, any kind of decoration, unless its weight reduction, is out of the question.
