So I've ran into this interesting info about a ford that went under my nose.. the Ford Falcon XR6/XR8. While looking into it, on top of being blown away that ford decided to NOT give us this car, the thought ran into my mind, what if I could import an engine and swap it into my car? I seriously would do something like this if it were possible, but I'm just looking into the idea right now. I need some of you Ford experts to help me out here. What do you guys think?

Ill assume you're referring to the (BA) Falcon's with the "Boss 260" 5.4? It's very possible. Just prepare to pay dearly.

money will make this happen. lots of it!

but then you run into paying all that to have a one of a kind. that is cool no doubt but god forbid you need parts i dont think alot of them are availible quickly. vehicle downtime could kill the fun factor

Yeah, I figured it'd be either a bit of work and/or cash since its a straight six. Idk how expensive it is to import the engine though. I figure it wouldn't cost that much though?

That would be sweet! But I'm not sure if its reasonably possible...

Also by the time the cost for importing motor and extra parts might just be worth importing a whole car. Would love a falcon!

I just wish US DOT would get their shit together and let us import R34 skylines easier. Otherwise it's a wait til 2024 until it clears the 25 year barrier.

Sometimes I wonder if it's all for money... But if we could, there's a 6cyl that'd shut up all the v6 haters lol. Would do that over a 4.6 swap any day if I could.

It's not about offering them to us to give us a better V6. The V6 was made to be the mass produced Mustang people can afford - not a high performance version. If they wanted more power out of it, they would have just improved it. They (Ford and every other company) are also bound by over all production regulations in the US (average fuel economy offerings etc etc....).

There are plenty of ways to make an SN95 six fast. None of them will shut up the true haters. We ran 11s. They wanted faster. We ran 10s. They still looked away. We ran 9s. I still see haters. We started into the road course action and were laying the smack down on several popular cars. Not even a blink. Haters gonna hate. To worry about it is only hurting yourself by wasting your time.
