Heh, I'm glad they don't bother with that here at all as long as it's not bad weather, etc... I blew past two cops headed the other way the first time I tested my newfound cornering ability... nearly blind curve, at speed limit in, if I recall the sign I didn't read closely, a 20mph curve... I held traction without any issues, they weren't exactly putting along themselves, and I'm pretty sure neither even looked back. Real back roads are fun, as long as they're paved.

Yeah.. I wasn't even going fast. At all. We were gawking at the mountains and I just drove around the corner like normal. Turns out 30mph on a 20mph corner is "dangerous". Thankfully, that cop's printer broke while he was trying to cite me, so he just gave me his card and said to have a nice drive.

In some of these situations I'd be pissed. Especially when moving with traffic that is speeding and getting pulled over for being in the middle of it.

You better bet I was pissed. It was my first ticket too, and the cop was being a prick about it all. The speed limit sign was at the very beginning of the road right after you cross 4 lanes of 60mph traffic too, so it's not like I was paying attention to what the signs said.

There is so much more to this story then what is being typed, but it should give the main story.

I got my farmers license when i was 16, and my neighbor is a old man whos son i law was chief of police. Needless to say, he didnt like my loud exhaust but in nj he couldnt do anything about it. So he requested his son stops me as much as possible. Needless to say, in my first month of driving i had well over 30 tickets on my record, only one point violation.... This leads to my big story.

I was 18, in my friends 92 accord. He had a bad vibration at highway speeds, so i took it out with him in the passenger seat to test it. I took the car to its speed governor, at 110 mph. It was 11pm and the highway was dead. I was on the highway for 1 mile, then exited down a straight downhill 1/4 mile offramp. At the stop sign i lit a cigarette and saw in my mirror a police officer coming fast. So i waited. Quickly 1 cop turned into 9. Apparently, in the 1 miles i was on the highway, i was doing 145mph, i eluded him, made 16 illegal lane changes, and was wrecklessly driving. I admit, i was speeding, and the speeds could be considered wreckless. Now, after they proceeded to rip us from the car and pistol whip my friend unconcious, i was taken to the station. At the station i was given a choice, Eluding 2nd degree, attempted manslaughter of a police officer for speeds in excess of 99 mph, and a bunch of tickets... Or i could take all that, PLUS grand theft and kidnapping to keep my friend from being charged with aiding and abedding. It would be his 3rd strike, and he did nothing wrong so i took that too. The police officers joked about how many tickets the record was for one stop, and proceeded to write a lot of bs to make ME their new highest ticketee.

Now onto the police report... It stated the officer was traveling the opposite way on the highway, and had to cross over and catch up to me. In 1 mile, i never even saw him. He was in a (not supposed to be) unmarked, jet black expedition limited to 99 mph. It had one tiny red light in the windshield, as it was brand new and had not been outfitted for police duty yet. In the report, he said he could see the passenger looking back at him, however said he could not get a vehicle description or plate number. Ironic too that the car had 5% tint and it was night. Also ironic that if im doing, supposedly 145, and he is limited to 99 and he is turning around, how i am supposed to see him at all. Also, how did i endanger his life if he could not go over 99?

So now to court. Looking at 25 years in jail over this. Pretrial comes, and im sitting in court. My lawyer walks in, has a paper to sign. Something called PTI (Pre Trial Intervention). I ask he says its a get out of jail free card. Thats all he said. I saw the judges sig, Asst prosecutor sig, Probation sig, but the Prosecutors sig was empty. 30 minutes later i am called up. The judge states this case has a lot of contradicting issues. The prosecutor looks at me and says "You are the luckiest kid i have ever, and will ever meet. If i had my way (as he looks at the judge in disgust), you would be in jail for a VERYYYY long time. You have a huge list of violations, most being small but still shows you as being careless to the law." The judge rattles off my punishment. 10 years probation, consisting of 3 years strict weekly visits, 1 year monthly visits, and 6 years staying clean and not being arrested. 1 year loss of license, 22 points worth of tickets and a whopping $375 in fines. At the end, he says, you can file for expongement. If you follow these rules you will be found not guilty of all charges and your record whiped clean by court order. My bail was also held until my final date of probation, which really hurt me. It was $10000 i paid in full instead of using a bondsman.

There were many factors in why i am not in jail to this day. One being my squeeky clean criminal record. One being drug free and HONEST with the probation officer in my before trial conversation with her. I had a really good lawyer. And, apparently, my father was a retired State Police Officer. He still wont talk about him ever being one, or admitting it, but he was.

The story gets better. About 2 years ago, the officer who arrested me and lied so many times, was convicted of tampering with evidance on state and federal levels, falsifying statements, and illegal search and arrests. His father, was a highly decorated state trooper who died in the line of duty. He has since been trying to live to his fathers name. His father, was my fathers commanding officer.

Moral of the story. Kharmas a *****, dont ever EVER speed because police can make it SO much more then speeding sometimes, and be HONEST with the law whenever questioned. I honestly, swear to my life was just speeding. I never would think of outrunning them. But that night, i almost lost my life in another way then death over a simple speeding violation and a crooked, wanna be hero cop. A lot of luck went into my freedom. Im still to this day paying for my speeding, with 20 points on my license. My insurance isnt bad, but finding work is a lot harder.

Well, it wasnt a crazy ticket, but it was my first and most memorable...

I was 18, and it was my high school graduation day (2001). My dad and I own a 1968 Dodge Charger 440 R/T. Well he handed me the keys and told me to take it out for the day and cruise around. Ive driven the car a handful of times, but I was always with my dad. The car was ordered with no power steering and no power brakes (4 wheel drum), so I never felt comfortable driving it by myself with manual brakes and steering with a big block over the front suspension. So I take it out, and the first place that I go is to my buddy's house and pick him up. I was kind of grandmaing the car around and everything was going well. So I proceed to make a right hand turn onto a street, and there were two girls walking by, they say nice car, so naturally my buddy tells me to punch it. So being young a naieve, I nail it halfway through the turn. The car got sideways and being that it was a concrete road, the tire shreak was loud as could be. Somehow I was able to control it and look like I knew what I was doing, and as soon as the car straightened out, I see a cop sitting in a driveway shooting radar about 200 yards ahead of me. I knew I was caught, so I just pulled over and waitied for him to come out. He and another cop came up on either side of the car, and of course the first words out of his mouth were did my dad know I had the car out? lol I was so scared especially being my first ticket, and knowing that if my dad knew I was hot rodding the car, it would be my last time. I tried giving him a story that my dad and I just adjusted the transmission kick down linkage, and that it wasnt adjusted properly, but the cop didnt want to hear it. He and his partner went back to the car, and came back a few minutes later. He told me that they were going to TOW the car! I started freaking out, and both cops started laughing and he told me he was joking. He said that he just wanted to put some fear into me and for me to think about how mad my dad would be if it got impounded. Needless to say it put plenty of fear into me. It was a couple years before my dad found out about the ticket, and by that time, I had done enough work on the car, and had it out to enough car shows by myself that pops couldnt be mad. The car is now currently being rotisserie restored by me and Im showing pops how to weld and do body work...so its something that we now laugh about when were out in the garage working on it...

I have to say, love the last one there... and the second to last was probably a higher priority call or a cop that just felt like beating the "slow down, dammit" into your head without the paperwork and effort a real stop would cause him.

Believe it or not. i do not have any tickets, not even a parking ticket... I try not to be stupid on the streets, a bright orange mustang gets a lot of attention from the cops. They follow me everywhere looking for an excuse.

However I did get really lucky with a warning. A stupid guy in a camaro with his girlfriend constantly kept trying to race me while I was cruising the strip one night. Finally had enough of him so I dropped into second and let the supercharger whine for a block. Should have seen the look of him and his girlfriend, it was priceless. Then about three blocks later i pulled into a parking lot around the corner where the local car guys hangout. Parked the car and was about to step out of the car and a ghost car drove by the parking lot and flicked his lights on. Crap. He ended up looking at my record and noticed it was clean. So he let me off with a warning. I think he also let me off because I was cooperative with him and i dont think he had enough evidence on me. He must have been really far back down the street and only saw me because the street had a slight incline. He also only mentioned a racing ticket... nothing about my speed.

The expression of my friends at the parking lot was also priceless. They thought the cop was going to have a nice chat with them too because unlike me they race anything that moves. They have also never been caught which sort of annoys me how lucky they are.

haha thats like my buddy is always like "you could do 95 thru a subdivision with open headers and you still wouldnt get a ticket.....i stand on it one time and i ge the cherries behind me" ......and what makes it funnier is the first time he said that to me we were sitting on the side of the road in front of a cop after he went thru 2nd and half of 3rd gear......lol i still crack up about that

I didnt get a ticket but i still think its a cool story..

I was on my way to school on a Thursday, as I turned onto the street my school was on I floored it, only through first gear. For the fun of it you know..
I look on my rear view mirror and sure enough the law is behind me. It took him 30 seconds or so before hw actually turned his lights on but I already knew I was going to be pulled over.
When he did, i turned down the closest residential street and pulled over for him. Before he even got to my car I had my license and registration ready for him. He cam to my window, i gave him my information, he looked at it, then handed it back and asked " So, where you just headed to school a little quickly" "yes sir", "well I really like your car, it sounds bad ass, I had a mustang when I was younger. Take it easy". He hands me my info and lets me go.

Woot.

See, that sounds like you were doing exactly what's gotten me a few priceless looks from cops around here, and he actually went through the effort to hit the lights for you. I have a bad habit, when the weather's nice enough to do it without kicking my tail out sideways, of seeing if I can get to (and not above) speed limit without spinning in the length of an intersection, as soon as the intersection's clear and my light's green. Preferably when there's a cop at any point in the intersection around me... because as soon as I'm up to speed, I hold it there. There's nothing illegal in it, there's no part of the law that I'm aware of covering how quickly you get to speed limit, as long as you do so safely... but for some reason, every cop that's watched me do it's tensed up for a brief moment before they realize I'm not actually planning on speeding. I also don't pre-rev for the launch, mostly because I've found I simply don't need to, so there's only the mid-intersection high RPMs to raise their eyebrows. The couple times the cop's actually been in a position to follow me through the intersection when I've done that, they've had this dumbfounded look when I hold perfectly on the mark at speed limit after pulling out so quickly. I'm amazed I haven't caught a cop having a bad day with that'n yet. I've sure went fishing for it enough!

Poison ive gotten a ticket for that before, its called unsafe acceleration. The safety of the acceleration is to be determined by the cop, and fighting it is your opinion against his. If a intersection is involved, and there are crosswalks, it then becomes a safety issue for pedestrians. Im not arguing the point with you, just informing on previous experiences. It was a 4 point ticket btw

Yeah i can see what stanimal is saying. I just try not to push cops buttons even if you're doing everything under the law. They can pull alot of bullsh*t. Here if they see or think you've done something they'll pull you over and give you a stupid ticket for something like tinted windows or for big trucks with no mud flaps.

back when the 94 was new I had to go up to indianapolis for some training and took the gt. We took off for lunch and on the way back everyone decided to have some fun. Myself and the other care were being stupid on the bypass and just going too fast when I noticed a black bmw caught up and I thought he wanted to play so I threw it down a gear and floored it. The other guy dropped out and it was just me and the bimmer till it pulled up next too us and the pass window rolled down. Behind the wheel was a very well dressed black man(suit/tie/ect) with a big stogie burning in his left hand on the wheel, and in the right hand he is waiving a badge and saying something about off-duty deputy BLA BLA BLA.... Needless to say I got on the brakes pretty hard and the next exit happened to be ours.

Another time I somehow got away with it some friends and I left a bar after a nice friday night. Was not one to slam and then run out the door to drive but as I left I was probably closer to the limit then I wanted too be. Never saw a DUI checkpoint in my town till that night when I rolled up too it and thought for sure I was screwed. They had two areas set up to check drivers one behind the other and as I rolled up the 1rst station let its driver go and he motioned me through to the 2nd station. I had my license hanging out the window when I rolled up to the 2nd station when the guy that was supposed to stop me is facing away and talking to 2 other cops. I started to slow down and he turned around and told me I didn't need to stop twice - so I didn't(stop once let alone twice) and just kept rolling through. As I drove off I was not sure if I got away with it or if they were going to be chasing me but nope, got away.... I chain-smoked 3 cigs on the way home lighting them all off of each other, and then went and wiped....

My 1st ticket, age 18 of 2007, was all my fault i'd admit it. An old guy was infront of my at a light and took for ever to get up to 35mph, about 3 blocks, when we got to 25 mph and about 2 blocks, i went around him on a 4 lane road. and as i was slowing down around a curve a richfield cops clocked me at 55 in a 35 as he was going the other way, wrote it for a basic speeding ticket because i just turned 18, admited everything, and pulled over before he even finished turning around.

My 2nd ticket, age 21, 3 years later to the date. I was out with a bunch of buddies on a saturday night doing our usual car night stuff. Was with the ex and she needed to go home. took her home and i went back out. Once i took her home my buddies scatted and went looking for trouble and i called them up to find them. As i was getting on HWY280 i merged into the left lane. before i new it there was a late 80's fox 5.0 next to me. He kept trying to get me to race him. Which i didnt want to. i hated hwy280 because it is a main route for all of the street racers and car people to get from the first spot to the next. Well as im trying to slow down, his buddies in 2 seprate vehicles were our lanes. 1 behind him the other behind me2. i couldn't slow down because he would hit me. the guy would budge. And the guy in the fox kept mirroring everything i did. Slow down, speed up, over and over. So i said F*** it. and took off left him behind me, trying to get over into his lane to get to the shoulder since the left lane has a foot between it and the concrete barrier. Once he hit the gas i had 2 cars on him and it stayed there. We went under Larpenture ave. and as im slowing down and the fox is going past me the cop clocks me 76 in a 50. pulled me over i told him i was being chased those guys would leave me alone and he wrote in his report i was being chased and he saw the other 3 cars and how they were driving. i was upset because he wrote me ticket and the ticket has a copy of what he wrote. So i got the court house to see a desk clerk. and she raid the report and my side of the story which matched to a T. so she did me a huge favor and even told me she was going to do this because i was wronged. She scheduled me court date on the officers vaction time where he would be out of state. So fast forward to the day. I pulled in the lot only 3 other cars at the court house. i sit in my car for a tiny bit. as im about to get out. the same cop that pulled me over Parked right next to me and waved. I get the ticket reduced from 281 dollars to 115 after fees....

This is a great threat, good stories!!!

417285_308344392564144_1953905738_n.jpg

^^^ Posting this pic to show you how much my BAB and VERY LOUD Mustang stands out in the Netherlands. With all the 1-liter breadboxes out here you will understand I get a lot of attention from the law... My car is a hobby car but whenever I take it out I will have at one point a cop car behind me, with the cop typing in his computer to check my license... But my car is 100% legal (-ish), insured, paid etc.

I always speed. Speed limits on the highways are 100kmh (about 60mph) or 120kmh (75mph) but I normally drive at 85 to 100mph. My car really stands out and scares people, so in the fast lane everybody will go out of my way - and it's hard to keep the speed limit on a Mustang-only lane. Here in the Netherlands we do not have points to our license - we'll just get a big fine and you will loose your license if you are caught doing 30mph over the speed limit (which I normally don't do).

Last year I was caught by a cop in a laser gun, I was only a few hundred yards away from home, my engine wasn't even warm yet (so I didn't go that fast). He told me he was checking cars coming from the other direction but he heard my car, turned around, saw something loud and bright blue approaching and pointed his laser... He and his colleagues admired the car though, I'm always scared they say something about the exhaust but they didn't. It helps I look like a normal guy and I don't drive like an asshole - just a little faster than allowed.

My best story though was not in the Mustang but in my daily beater - an old (European) Ford Fiesta with a 1.3 liter engine - it's not fast but you can chuck it around like crazy, it's like a cart. My (now ex-) gf and myself came from a party, we went to my place, at around 1am. It was completely quiet. There's one corner near my house where everybody goes really slow but I found that I can speed through without braking... so I did that. All of a sudden there's a police car behind me, to this day I do not know where he came from...

So I slow down, but the street is really narrow there. The cop puts on his police sign (that's how they pull you over here) but I decide to drive a bit further to stop at a bus stop - because otherwise we'd block the entire road (no shoulder). The cop thinks I'm not stopping, so he puts on his lights. I still drive on. He puts on his siren... And I stop at the bus stop. Two cops get out, one comes to my window, asks for my papers and yells at me where the fire is... The other cop has his flashlight out and shines through all windows checking my car...

I stay polite and I know they can't have measured my speed. They give me a breath test but I don't drink so I pass. They desperately try to find something wrong but there isn't anything. They ask me why I didn't stop, I tell them because we would block the road. They tell me: we have a police car, next time stop immediately! And they take off without saying goodbye... No ticket.

Also let me share this pic, from another time I got busted with the Mustang. A speed camera got me doing 90 where 65 was allowed. Got me a big fine but also a nice photo...

1. was leaving college one day and i would take the back way around the campus so i could miss a bunch of traffic and lights and its more scenic (road follows a river). anyway, i come down to T-intersection to make the a right onto the river road. i'm in my old red 94gt. i stop but as the road is a steep hill and the car is a manual, it coasts down a bit before i pull out. Well, i saw two cars coming but had plenty of time to pull out in front of them. the 2nd car was a cop. he flips his lights on and the car behind me gets over i start to slow down as he gets right behind me. i figure i don't want to stop on this road as it's windy and not a good place so go a little farther down and park in a back lot of the dorms. he comes up to the window and is telling me i didn't stop and i speed away from the intersection. i tell him i did stop but drifted a little bit before pulling out. he takes my cards back to his car, comes back not a minute later and literally throws my paperwork in the window and says its' your lucky day. he practically ran back to his car and pulls a 180 and high tails it out of there.

2. was out at the local cruise hangout spot on a saturday night with my old 94. the lot is packed as it was a beautiful night out. i park in another lot with a buddy of mine and walk over to the normal lot. maybe 20 min later i see a cop over parked next to my car looking through it with a flashlight. so we head back to the car. cop goes "you're out of inspection" i hadn't even realized it. he asked to look through the car, i had nothing to hide so i said sure. in the end we had about 30 guys watching us from the parking lot. in the end it was just embarrassing and the cop let me go with a warning.

3. last spring i was coming home from work at 9pm on a friday night. it was one of the first really nice nights out so i was just taking my time enjoying driving the mustang with the windows down. theres a weird intersection where there is two stop signs to pull out onto the main road. so i stop completely at both and pull out and maybe 1/10 mile up there is a light. i don't even get to the light before a cop puts his lights on. He wasn't behind me and there is nowhere for him to sit so i'm clueless as to where he came from. i turn at the light then and go up the hill to a big parking lot so we're not on the main road. cliche over weight cop gets out and starts berating me about "hot rodding around town". and how i shouldn't be going fast and what not. i'm dumbfounded at this point as i never even approached the speed limit. all i did was pull out from complete stops and i didn't even get on it or anything at all. i realize the car is loud but come on. anyway hes shining his flashlight all around the car. He asks me about my tires in the back (at the time M/T street radials). i tell them they are drag radials. he looks at me like a deer in headlights. i proceed to explain what a drag radial is. i'm nothing but polite at this point laughing on the inside because he can't get me for anything, maybe noise ordinance but that is it. everything is legal on my car, even the exhaust because i have an exception sticker. he asks me about my seat belt, i tell him i wear it everywhere i go, especially with this car. asks me some other things that were just stupid. anyway, he goes back to his car and writes up a warning but he goes to me "we could find something to write you up for if i wanted to but i'm just giving you a warning this time". at this point it's been almost 45min so i just want to get home. so he gives me the paper and i go home without even looking at it. I look at it when i get home and see the verbiage of the warning was for "Excessive revving of exhaust"

Ive been pretty lucky not to get any tickets in the mustang. Knock on wood anytime ive been pulled over, ive been let off. Actually only have 1 ticket which was for a 77 in 70 in my old jeep gc.

But a couple storys...

Went to get something to eat one night. Ended up getting a call from a buddy while eatin wantin to try out his car. So headed that way I stop and get gas and have a couple guys askin about the car. So of course when pullin out, i lay into it 1st and snatch 2nd doing what the police like to call "lay drag" for prob 150-200ft. Get to the light and see the man pull out behind me. No lights on or anything. Light turns green, i try to creep through the intersection turning left as normal as possible (car can be a little *****y about movin slow with my clutch), soon as i finish the turn, on come the lights. Pull over, he gets out walks up.. exact words "let me see your goddamn license".. hand him license, he walks back to car..comes back about 4-5min later, throws my license back in the car and tells me to take it home. Tell him yes sir and im on my way. Proceeded to head to the spot and have a little fun. Street tires owned me that night trying to race a 67mm turbo 01 cobra on etstreets lol.

next one.. thought i was going to jail for sure. Up in North GA headed toward atlanta.. passed a highway patrol sittin off in the cut doin 115ish in a 65. Soon as i saw him i stuck it in nuetral and just started coasting. I look in rearview and see him pullin out, throws the lights on and is coming fast. Pulls me over, and im already pulling all my money out of pocket and texting buddy of mine to come get it so he can bail me out. Comes walkin up, and asks me to step out.. soon as i open the door and start getting out, he tells me "pop the hood i want to check the car out". So i comply (but tell him theres no latch). So we walk to the front and as im opening the hood hes telling me "you know you're an idiot right?". I laugh and told him i know..open the hood. Real long story short, he has a turbo camaro and just wanted to check the car out. Told me i better do 1mph under the speed limit in that area from now on cause his 'brothers' arent so nice to speeders in modified cars.
