03 Mach 1 drag pack

What is it... I've seen like 4 different mach 1's including my friends azure blue 03, say Drag pack right underneath the Mach 1 emblem on the back.

Sounds like a dealer installed performance option. I've heard of that where I work, they've installed "drag packs" on some new cars. It's basic bolt on upgrades like exhaust, cai, maybe some suspension. I think the packs are from Ford Racing as well and there are different levels.

"drag-pack" back in the day was basically a car that had been lightened for drag racing. fiberglass hood, bumpers, no wheelwells, no radio, gears, ect.
what that means today idk. maybe you get a short shifter and gears and no pwr windows and locks.

Chryslers in 70 and 71 had a track pack and super track pack. The track pack was a dana rear with a 3.54 rear gear, and some other stuff. The supertrack pack was a 4.10 dana on man and autos and had power disk brakes, stiffer leaf springs biased towards the right rear, and a few other things. It was all stuff made to take the power and abuse of a drag strip. I'm sure that's what the mach 1's that have that decal have had done to them. Probably a rear gear, different springs, etc. But who knows? Ask one of the owners.

My dad had a '69 Mach 1 428SCJ drag-pack car. It had a factory oil cooler, staggered rear shocks for launches, and 3.90 gears, although I think gears were an option at that time.
