Hi everybody Im new to the site and joined after finding this website when searching google for answers. Im trying to wire my fuel pump to a kill switch but Im trying to locate a 12v source that only provides power when the key is on the on position. Where can I find this wire? Thanks for any help.

I think you have that confused. There are two different types of ignition, not many people know. True ignition has voltage with the key in the on position, as well as while the motor is cranking. This is for items like the fuel pump, otherwise you would have no gas while cranking. a regular ignition is for something like the radio, which turns off while cranking to save battery power.

best place for true ignition is at the steering column in the main hrns. Use a meter to be sure and it will not take long to find.
