18x9 n 18x10 worth it on a non deep dish wheel

Im looking into rims and i see guys on here putting as big as 295's on the back of there 18x9 wheels, so im saying to myself why spend more on the 10's if i could do just as big as i want with an 18x9 which is a 285-295 tire. Can anyone els please explain to me the difference besides how big of a tire you could put on the 18x10 does it serve any other purpose then just fitting a bigger tire on it...? :-\

i wouldn't go bigger than a 265-275 on a 9".

some do it and have had no problems but i would rather just be safe and put it on a 10"..

A 295 would bulge alot, causing uneven wear on the tire.
