So I figured I'd start up a build thread. Something for myself to map out what I'd like to do with my car. Right now I'm not really looking at doing any real performance upgrades until I'm able to afford it without just blowing a pay-check. But that's okay, because there are quite a few asthetics that i really need to get out of the way anyway, as well as a few mechanical problems that need fixing. First, a little background.
My first car was a 1991 Ford Probe. That worked out for about a year until it stopped going in reverse, then stopped going in drive, then stopped going. After the probe, I was driving a 2004(?) Trailblazer that was a hand-me-down for about 3 years. It was a great car, and I loved it but the engine kept having problems pop up, and at the time I was in a dismal financial situation. For about a year I had some sort of engine problems going on that sounded pretty bad and i finally decided to ditch the TB.
Well as much as I had loved the car, I knew I'd have to find another that I loved just I much. I wouldn't be very happy jumping into the first car for a decent price I found, and the more I though them more I knew I wanted a convertible. So i jumped into the first convertible for a decent price I found.
As of now I'm mainly looking to get the car restored to where it's looking nice, and has no mechanical issues, and then I'll be moving on to more performance based upgrades. This is if I don't decide to try to trade up for a V-8 somehow(Wishful thinking...). So I'll be keeping track of all that here in the future. Feel free to comment on what you think, and help me out with opinions!
So far I had the car re-painted with the leftover money from selling off the TB. I liked how it turned out and got a good bit of compliments. Then my Dad backed into the passenger side of my car. Got that all fixed up and a re-paint again. Still looks good.
For X-mas, brace yourselves, I got a set of Raziom Dual Halo smoked headlights. Yes. I know. Everyone here is about to scream rice like an asian with the munchies. But I think they look good, they set the car out a little, darken it up, and add a bit of aggressiveness. So long as I like it, don't really care what you guys think, no offense. Feel free to rant about that one all you want though. I'll be avoiding altezzas for the taillights so maybe that'll make up for it. The plan for taillights is to replace the old horizontals in the back with a new set of verticals. I won't be looking into sequentials, I'm not a fan. To round off the exterior, I look forward to getting(or making?) a shorty antenna, and swaping my hood latch for a 99+ latch, so I can put in a honeycomb style grill(still a little up in the air about this one, but I'm not doing it right now anyways so I have time to think about it).
