What's the max overbore on that block? Is there a good way to determine what a safe maximum would be, like how thick the cylinder walls really are? After further inspection of the engine block, I realized it's too dirty for just brake clean. Took it to work and it had a nice bath. Crankshaft got mag checked and no cracks so it got a nice little polish. Cylinders have .002 taper. Pistons look kinda scuffed. Wanting to do flat top pistons and machine the block to .040 (block is currently at .030). Just waiting for the pocket book to catch up.

I recall hearing In my high school auto shop that 0.030" is typical max for iron blocks.
I've never dealt with boring an iron block before, so my questions are just to satisfy my curiosity.
Thanks, CobraRGuy
I like the logo. Maybe I'll try that for my 429 R.
