One of the original things I envisioned for the car from the beginning was a quick release race type steering wheel. With the airbags blown already it seemed to be the thing to do. Due to me building this on budget I opted for an Ebay wheel and hub adaptor, the adaptor was tall enough that I can't fit a quick release on it without pushing the wheel too close to me. I also want to keep the clock spring in place for the horn and hopefully I can retain the cruise controls.
First I had to modify the hub adaptor to clear the wires going into the clock spring.

The next thing I did was 3D print a shroud/ cover to go over the clock spring and cover the gap on the column. Wrapped in carbon fiber sticker.

I installed it today, would have liked to test drive it but we got snow today and for the next few days. I think it will not be straight so will have to realign the front again. The horn button is wired and works. I'll have to design and 3D print a plate to hold the original cruise control switches.
