I am eying a blown motor out of a 2001 GT as a source of PI heads and parts for my Romeo engine. It seems they think it is a Windsor and the few facts they give such as 8 bolt crank support this and the heads do have the PI stamped on them. Since the block has a hole in it I suspect anything to do with the rotating assembly is bad but the price still makes this worthwhile considering I can scrap the block for 5 cents a pound, any aluminum bits would go higher.

What differences and I looking at here considering I would have everything from the block up. What about the cams, I understand Windsor is press on vs Romeo's bolt on. What is the degree procedure for those if anything is different? Any difference in chambers on the Windsor vs Romeo PI heads? Just what do I need to look out for?

Degreeing procedure would be to buy Romeo cams, you need to take the cam gear off and grind it or replace with the adjustable ones.

The combustion chamber is the same style.

btw I have a set of PI cams, real, real cheap.

Cool, so Romeo cams will fit Windsor heads with no problems? That is good to hear

I picked up this motor and got everything needed for a PI swap except for the right side head. Sadly it was bad. Luckily I found another motor I am looking at tonight which fits the bill. Looks like I will have 3/4 of a PI swap up for sale when I hit 100 posts and I can post it in the classifieds...
