Couple of things:
1. I don't see a screenshot of the dyno graph anywhere. Who posts a dyno video without showing the readout on the screen?
2. The pull should have been made in 5th.
3. "Corrected" numbers can lick my nuts.

Paul.

Heres motor trends dyno numbers on the 5.0 they estimate the real crank hp @ 435 for the 5.0 gt and 308crank hp for the 3.7 v6,they got 268rwhp for the v6 and 377rwhp for the 5.0 gt

268hp for a v6?!?! Christ, what has this world come to, the old HCI beasts like my car pull 270-300rwhp and idle loud and get bad mileage. Technology is great, but kinda bad for the mustang modding enthusiast...

Nope. Here's a direct quote from a friend of mine on another board.

That's an awfully nice handmade graph because it sure doesn't look like any dynojet graph I've ever seen. No low end torque either. LOL

In case you're questioning his expertise... he's the #1 LS1 tuner in AZ, has an 800+rwhp 9 second street-driven Camaro that he built/tuned, a 600 rwhp daily driver GTO that he built/tuned, and a 380rwhp GM truck daily driver that he built/tuned.

not going to lie, the power curve does look bad, it takes to 4k before anything starts happening, most cammed cars start from 2.5k-3k and keep going...

The new 4v 5.0 is impressive no doubt, and much better than previous modular boat anchors, but the fact remains...

LSx > Modular Ford

LSx > Modular Ford
6.1L vs 5.0L, Ford Modular=435hp est at crank, 6.1L Pushrod chevy=426hp at crank.... Yes the ford modular is a terrible engine /end sarcasm. When will you just accept the fact that the modular has come a LONG ways from the crappy NPI of 1996?

Peak power numbers don't get me all excited.

Funny how you're quoting "estimated crank horsepower" for the Ford and "advertised horsepower" for the Chevy. I'm going to say the Chevy has "5,000 estimated crank horsepowers." LMFAO.

When will you just accept the fact that the modular has come a LONG ways from the crappy NPI of 1996?

I think I alluded to that when I said:

...or did you miss that part?

Didn't know you said the same thing I did :p. But I understand the power curve isn't the greatest, I said that already, I would rather have my power way before I'm redlining, but to constantly bash the Modular is stupid, ford has proven that the engine is good, and if 412hp out of a 5.0L that doesn't idle rough and has good street manners, I would say that is one hell of an engine. Say my car *does* pull 300rwhp(Not likely) I still have a car with less HP and less driveability than a 2011 mustang gt. I still like my car and won't get rid of it, but to bash the new engine is stupid...

I'm not bashing it. I'm saying the GM powerplant is still better.

the stock numbers are impressive, but I'd rather have a 300hp car that doesn't need work to put a power-adder onto, than a car that's basically gonna max itself out at its advertised numbers until you do internal work to the motor.

gm has had a good motor for a long time, but the only nice looking vehicle they make is the corvette. the new camaro is a pile.

Engine performance can be measured scientifically, and a "winner" can be declared.

Car styling is entirely a different matter. I love the new Camaro, and think the new Mustang looks like shyt.

Not to mention the list of 65 defective items for recall...

hmmm to remind people I find the new ford line up impressive, has any 1 read this months issue of mm&ff they ran Those Roush Mustangs are no joke. In the latest issue of MM&FF, they ran an impressive 11.4 @ 125 mph in the 1/4 in a bonestock Stage 3,and this is last year 2010 of the 4.6 3 valve, now imagine what the new 2011+supercharged 5.0 roush and saleens will run :) so I would say the power and times of reg gt is pretty badass for reg run of the mill $29k+gt I think people are forgetting this, they like to compare it to shelbys and vettes and lsx 6.0 and 7.0 liters, dont forget its making 03-04 supercharged horsepower now and more power then a gm 5.7 liter and same or more power then a chevy 6.0 and 5.7 6.1 hemi ;) people are overlooking this a lil to much...
