you didnt see our write up on how to fix those odometer gears? lol.

oooohhhh.... I gotcha.
I had to replace the odometer in my Green '95 a while back, and I think I had to reference the write up back then. This time around I just did it off memory.. But yes the write up came in handy at one point. Ha.

small UPDATE

I finally was able to track down a plug for my upper intake manifold. It has been an eye sore since I installed the intake manifold, and a search locally came up with nothing. So a quick internet search and $6 later and I got an allen headed 3/8" chrome pipe thread fitting.

Engine bay before:

The old plug:

the new plug:

Engine bay after (subtle, but noticeable change)

...and I am proud to report that the car will be dropped off at the tuners tomorrow evening! The tuners dyno isn't quite up and running yet, so he is going to put a conservative street tune on the car so I can enjoy it/drive the snot out of it until the dyno is operational, and then tweak everything then.
I'll be able to go W.O.T. in my car finally without fear of blowing something up!

UPDATE!
I finally got around to mounting my new Mickey Thompson ET street II tires..
The comparison:

The Mickey Thompsons almost seem like they are a touch wider on the wheel than the old BFG drag radials. It is nice seeing the rear tires with tread on them for a change!

Then I decided to take the car for a cruise and then I stopped and had a mini photoshoot with it:

Questions/Comments welcome!

small UPDATE!

The car is at the tuners right now. His dyno is not 100% ready just yet, so it will just be getting a 'street tune' for now, which is better than tuning with an inertia dyno, but not as accurate as a loaded dyno (which he has). At least this way I will be able to enjoy the car and not be afraid of going full throttle and potentially hurting something.
He estimates I should have the car back tomorrow evening, but we'll see if the timeline sticks. I trust him with my setup and he knows what he's doing, so if it takes longer than expected, then I know it was done for the benefit of the car and the power/drivability.

small UPDATE

I got the car back from the tuners tonight. He mainly worked on the quality of the idle and partial throttle. He found that the Autolite 3924 plugs I was using weren't working very well with the setup and were causing a popping noise in the exhaust, so he switched to a colder NGK plug (what I wanted to run in the first place but couldn't find any info on them) and the problem is resolved. He did, however, find that the #1 cylinder spark plug is getting contaminated with oil, and since the compression checks out OK, he suspects a bad valve stem seal, so I will have to replace those before the final dyno tune.
Also he suggested that I place my IAT sensor POST-blower for more accurate readings, and suggested that since I am not running an intercooler on this setup that I look into a methanol-injection setup to make it "safer" for those increased temps.

Other than the minor issues/corrections needing to be made, the car drives WAY better! It idles like a champ at stoplights, cruising RPMs it doesn't seem to hesitate or run 'sluggish'.. Thus far with the tune (before WOT attention) I am very happy with the street manners of the car.

Can you take another picture of your car [at this level] from front and center:

small UPDATE!

-I started tearing apart the valve springs tonight to replace the valve 'stem' seals, but I got the wrong kind of seals, so I will have to exchange those tomorrow.
-I searched for a while and found a NEW Snow Performance Stage 1 boost cooler water/meth injection kit for $285 with free shipping, so I bought that, and according to UPS, should be here on Monday.
-I will be getting my replacement blower discharge pipe fabbed up this Monday, which works out well for the meth injection kit arriving, so I can drill all my holes (IAT sensor and meth nozzle) at the same time, and hopefully have it ready to roll later that day.

~ I still need to fab up some brackets to hold my a/c lines put (passenger side liquid line tends to sit a little too close to the exhaust header)
~ My windshield wipers are doing some funny things, so I need to look into those too.

Hopefully dyno tuning by the end of the month!

UPDATE!

Well there has been some progress and some setbacks..

My Snow Performance Boost cooler kit came in, so I got to work installing it.
Tank position (right behind front bumper support):

Tank, pump, and CCRM wiring... mess.

Then I got my new blower-to-throttle body pipe made, and drilled holes for the IAT sensor and meth nozzle:

Outside:

Installed (can barely see the water/meth injection line):

Full engine shot:

Everything was going well, I went out and drove it around town and I noticed the clutch started to occasionally slip at close-to-full throttle in 3rd and 4th gears.. So that was a bummer.. Then later that night I was with a buddy and a few blocks from my house I nailed it through 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear, clutch slipped so bad it was smoking, and then.. started running really rough. Pulled the car into the garage and long story short blew the head gasket. I tore it apart last sunday.. picture of the damage:

Out of 8 cylinders, 6 of them were blown in some way shape or form. most of them were compression-into-coolant passages..
I gave up on using regular 'fiber' head gaskets, so MLS gaskets and a new Centerforce Dual Friction clutch should be arriving tomorrow. I went with a .061" compressed thickness gasket since the heads have been machined a total of .050" in their lifetime.
In other news the tuner's dyno is just about up and running, which will work out for good timing for me.. I'm anxious to see some numbers!

thank God you have a push-rod engine, huh? lol.

Absolutely.. tore down to the head gaskets in 3.5 hours.. I don't know if that's feasible in a modular engine, since I've never owned one, but I'm going to assume not. haha.

I should be going back together with the head gasket change tomorrow, then hopefully the clutch swap sometime this week or next.
