Ok, I have a 2v questing for power! I'm dealing on a complete 94 or 95 vic I think the guy said with a 2v. My question is, are there any differences between that 2v and the mustang 2v? I'm looking to build one and I was curious as to see if they are any differences.

If it is a 2v, then yes. But it is an npi motor. I would look for a pi motor for sure.

I knew it was a 2v and that it was NPI but I was going to actually build it..like heads and new guts and stuff. But there's no difference? That NPI 2v should be the same as mine?

As far as I know it is the same Maybe some small things are different like the upper plenum. If you are going to build it, look for an aluminum block, or a 5.4.. That is what I would do. If I would have done an iron block, I think I would have started with a 5.4 out of a truck.

I coached a friend through a build with his 95vic. Boy was it a junkyard build!! Like him buying used pistons with rods and reusing the rings and bearings that came with them!! Long story short,...it runs great! Cammed, high(er) compression, shorties.

Just be 100% sure you have heard this engine run with no noise.

I'm thinking about just getting the 5.4 out of the lightning myself atm. It has a forged crank, all I would need are the rods and pistons. Only problem is, I know the kenne bell 2.8 for the gt won't fit on the 5.4 which sucks. So I'm still up in the air between the 5.4 or a aluminum teskid block.

All youll need is the rods...stock rods are junk! But Ford and their crazy humer gave the lightning forged 18cc pistons. Honestly, if your into 2:73 gears, the lightings 500rwtq off idle will be fun but dont expect to be a winner in races....to much torque! I LIKE IT!

For the 5.4 I know torq tech had a kit that would allow you to run 4v stuff on a 2v I though they had a 5.4 kit regardless you can get a lightning lower and intercooler for under 300 now days.

As for a long block avoid lightning motors people want retarded money for them. The only thing special about them is they have a forged crank. In reality you could end up with a forged crank from a regular 5.4 even if you didn't they are significantly cheaper then 4.6 forged cranks.

Lol at reusing that used stuff. I'm not that brave

I have read and heard of builds with the cast crank in the mod motors seeing upwards towards 800. I am using a cast crank and not really worried about it.

Make sure your stuff (whatever you end up with) is well balanced, rpms kill motors... well vibrations in the high rpms do.
