thought the v6's and 5.0's have same trans and bellhousing. In fact, I'm pretty well positive of that since Tom from Super Six Motorsports told me. It's his life lol.

Idk if you need a different K member or not. check into that, and make sure you have the computer for the 5.0.

Coyote swaps are happening and fresh in alot of peoples minds right now. I noticed that AM has been selling some conversion parts already too. Familurearity with the job is most important though.

thanks for the replies, yup the old 5.0 i got a sweet deal on the engine. it came out of a smashed car, then i bought it from a friend.i bought the engine and auto trans for 100. i didn't need the auto so i sold it for 100.i bought the manual wire harness off e bay, and a manual pcm.it didn 't have the upper intake,so that came from e bay too lol.
the engine mounts look to be the same on the 3.8 and 5.0 but i'll check later ,when the time co

I fear you are throwing money away with the swap. The old 5.0 doesn't have that much more power than the 3.8L you're taking out. A more productive swap would be a 3.8L supercoupe.

That being said: You'd be best off taking his whole car. You're going to want a LOT of little things that will make this an expensive swap if you have to buy them all off ebay. The main parts are the motor, front suspension (you can use your stock K member, but you'll need the higher rate V8 front springs and matching shocks), motor mounts, harnesses, ECU, dash cluster, full exhaust, full system and I'd do the rear end as well. Any power increase is a waste in the stock open diff the V6 has. You can't put any of it to the ground. Shoot, it has a hard time putting the stock V6 power to the ground.

This is why limited slip and 3.73's and a studded cover are in my future ;p

Glad to have someone on here that knows a good deal about six cylinders. Been a big help. Now i'm not alone ;p
