31 Spline Differentials Which one?

hey guys well i got a little more back then i thought on my Tax's. I am really Considering going to a 31 Spline Setup just in case i get Power Hungry later on this year. Which would you do a Eaton TruTrac ?? Also Which Axles. Or should i go with Ford Trac Lock ?? Inform me please :) Differentials and rear ends are not my thing. I will also need Axles to go with this. I was Looking at Moser.

Mosier axles are the way to go. I was actually thinking of getting used carrier from a Exploerer. They are 31 spline with the traction lock.

Yeah I saw a brand new carrier unit from summit. It is a ford unit 31 spline for 239 it is a traction lock still but I'm not sure if I need to get a locker since I don't drag and it's a street car.

With all the street driving I do I don't think I should bother with a full locker. Any other suggestions

i have a 31 8.8 spline eaton posi. thats what i suggest. use royal purple fluid in it, otherwise it wont properly slip.

you can snag them off americanmuscle.com

good until 750 RWHP from what ive been told. (guy at the track blew his up around that power, thats the only scenario ive heard of one failing)

Yeah i was just told this by the guy that was going to be rebuilding my rear end he said if your not going to go to something like a Eaton Truetrac Limited slip with 31 spline Moser Axles there is no point in buying a 31 spline Ford Carrier Unit. He said if i was worried about it to just do what i am doing Reduild the Trac Lock and get a set of Moser or some sort of hardened axles.

I'm running a 31 spline setup out of a f150 from a buddy at ford who put it together with extra clutches with frpp axles and a girdle.

The f-150 carrier was dirt cheap too, I think I got it for less then 150 bucks built.

That is a Traction lock.....There is no reason to get a Traction lock 31 spline with 31 spline axles the Spider gears in the 31 spline are actually weaker in it then in the 28 spline.

Dang win i ws just joshin...anyways go on 50resto.com and they have 31spline kits for a good price

Yeah those are all TrACTION LOCK Diffs. Unless you step up to a 31 spline Locker like a Eaton Truetrac or similiar there is no reason to even swith to a 31 spline diff. You weaken your Spider gears in the 31spline. So therefor i shall just stick with the 28 Spline Ford Unit. So for all of you that think that a 31 spline Trac lock like one from another Ford is better you might want to read into it a little more.

When I built me rear end I was gonna go with a 31 Spline Ford Trac-Lock

.... But I went with a 28-Spline Auburn HD LSD w/ 3.73s and Couldnt be happier.

Auburn is Legit, I love the way its torque Bias.

i talked with someone that rebuilds them and races his 03 Cobra at the strip all the time. The last post i made was to inform everyone.

Ah ok cool. i must have looked over that post xP my brain is fried today. i`ve heard nothin but good things about the auburn diffs
