What is everyones opinion on the Probe 5.1 stroker kit for our motors, i have a little extra money and i think it would be nice to be little different....
Was looking into the same thing before i lost interest in my project but seem like i good deal but thats just me98saleen88 said:What is everyones opinion on the Probe 5.1 stroker kit for our motors, i have a little extra money and i think it would be nice to be little different....

at 1,000 RPMs thats 60,000 per hour. say you drive 2 hours a day? thats 120,000 times a day.

The piston shouldn't scrape anything. The oil ring is the only thing really scraping anything on the cylinder wall (besides the compression rings). The teeny-tiny space between the piston and cylinder wall is the oil clearance.
In order for the one of the pistons in our cars (V8) to go from either TDC to BDC (or vice-versa) the crankshaft has to rotate 180*. Once the crankshaft has turned 720*, each piston has completed it's 4 strokes (4 strokes= 1 cycle). So, for every full revolution (RPM) the piston has gone up and come down (or vice-versa). For every 1000 RPM's there are 500 cycles. If there are 4 strokes in 1 cycle, then how many times has that piston moved up and down in 1000 RPM's over the course of 1 hour? 60,000? Not quite.

and i thank you for clearifying... i remember one time i wrote something on this thread about different blower set ups... and apparently i had NO IDEA what i was talking about... 94 hellion (i think that was his name) completely pwned me and put me in my place. lol...
its always a good idea to clearify stuff so that we all get a chance to learn accurate information.

IMO, the 281 could use a lil more torque down low.

And I agree with that too! This is why I'm considering ditching the lightweight flywheel for the stock one.
yea, he's really smart... it was really embarassing because i THOUGHT i knew EXACTLY what i was talking about.... .. .. lol. and you cant argue with someone when what they say makes 1000% more sence than what you just said. lol.AaRoN said:MustangChris said:lol, very true.

Yeah Craig (94Hellion) is a really smart guy that knows his sh*t. One lesson I've learned about forums is to always make sure that what you're saying is perfectly clear. Otherwise (like I did to you), someone will think you are saying something that you're not or may just think you're a retard that talks out his wahoo...lol
And I agree 100% with you about the stroker kits. Our clearances are so tight, I want to make sure that what is going in my motor is the best I can get.
