68 302 block, worth getting?

I have a chance to get a free 302 68 block, I was told its a 306 with a bad bearing, is this block worth picking up? or dont waste my time? Thanks :)

Its the same thing that's in your car now but its not a roller.

machining and strength were slightly different due to tech and material changes. 68 block is considered stronger as modo said but, they are essentially the roller versus non roller as LAFENATU said also. if you want a roller cam the 68 needs machine work or special parts.

strength is more related to the block was not lightened to meet the epa mpg fleet requirements and it has more nickel content

All that needs modified is, i need holes drilled and tapped to accept hyd. rollers right?

And possibly other stuff, depending on how bad the bearing is. But if its free could be worth the time to take off the mains and check.

how much stronger are they than our blocks? does anyone know the h/p rating? Thanks
