Hey guys.
My wifes GT needs both fog lights changed. I have only glanced over it and I didn't see any screws or easy way to get the covers off. So, how do I do it? What needs to be done to change them? Remove the bumper?? I hope not. I just had to take the whole front end off of my Trailblazer to change the headlights and I don't really want to do it again, but if I have to I will I guess. Any help is appreciated.

its easy. Depending on how low her car is just jack itup where you can get to it, unscrew them and place the new bulb on the wire bundle connector. Thats how it is on my '02 GT. Can't be much different on the sn95 gts

are you talking about replacing the fog light assembly, or changing the bulbs?

either way, the bumper doesn't need to come off

The bulb just kind of unscrews from the light itself. They are bolted into the bumper support, not the actual bumper. I learned that from a fellow member. I never really thought about it until I asked.

When I replace one of mine the tech said don't touch the bulbs with your bare fingers. The dirt/oil on them will cause them to burn out prematurely - true?

ive heard that too, but i have always cleaned mine off w/ a alcohol swab before installing anyway. I hate getting under my bumper so i only wanna do it once.

yes, halogen bulbs will fail prematurely if the exterior glass is contaiminated w/ oils(this includes oils from your fingers). If you accidentally touch the bulb, clean it w/ isopropal alcohol and dry it w/a clean cloth.

The bulb holder has 3 little tabs that twist into the fog light and hold it in place. If you are under the car twist it left to remove the old bulb from the light place the new bulb in. Don't touch it like stated above and twist it to the right in the fog light so it is secured and your done. If you are changing the whole fog light i believe it is just one bolt that bolts the to bumper support.
