95 GT Auto- Drive shaft is rubbing in the drive shaft tunnel about a foot and a half behind the trans. Tail housing of transmission is also rubbing the bottom of my B&M hammer shifter. I have a Prothane transmission mount. Car was lowered about 1.5 inches, Eiboch sport springs. Anyone have ever experience this or know what could cause this? :confused1:

hmm.. maybe the tranny mount?

i know when mocking up my t56 mount, some guy made one for me thinking he knew what he was doing and it ended up hitting where you are saying. yours is hitting. I'm not promising thats whats wrong, just speaking from what i have ran into before.

There is a seam in the tunnel as well a clamping point for the shifter cable or parking brake....basically two high spots that keeps the tunnel from being as deep as the arch in the tunnel. I could fix that if that was the only problem by trimming the high spots down. I think if I could get the clearance between the shifter and the trans right it would fix the drive shaft rub. I am thinking that trans mount is too tall? Please reply.

the alumnium ds is a bigger diameter than the stocker.
Other people have had problems rubbing on the e-brake bracket.
Turned out to be worn control arms.
some people were also able to readjust the brake bracket

Really, I think im going to try and adjust the bracket first on my car, cause I have a tsb on it around here somewhere saying to bang it (ebrake bracket ) back up, and rivet or weld it there.

I just dont have the money for Maximum motorsports lower control arms right now lol, If Ima do it Ima upgrade.

the TSB is for inside the car , not in the tunnel

Well its most likely the uppers and they are cheaper than MM arms. I think you can get a set of OEM uppers for like 80 bucks or so.

You can get FRPP which are the same for the same cost.

I had the same problem with my 94gt, after looking at the emergency brake cable bracket, noticed 2 of the spot welds were broke loose at the rear of the bracket, making it a little lower than normal, I pushed the bracket back up with bottle neck jack and welded it, no more rubbing after that, If you weld on bottom of trans tunnel, beware of heat transfer, I removed my console and put a damp rag on top of tunnel where the weld was gonna penetrate top of tunnel

It probably is the uppers. I've been noticing a loud pop occasionally when I take off.
