So I am having this issue, I will try my best to describe it, here it goes....

When i hit the gas normal its almost fine every time but sometimes does this, but it really does it bad when I hit the gas hard, its like i hit the gas through any gear and it goes good that hesitates than goes than hesitates, like the motor hick ups bad in every gear above 2k rpm's. I replaced the cap and rotor and the maf sensor about 5 months ago. My mods are in my signature, I just cleaned the maf also. I also have the 24lb injectors with the 19lb mass air but i have that 24lb sample tube that goes in the c&L maf housing. I've checked my timing and i checked my fuel pressure. the car also has idling issue's when the car is cold it sounds like its massively missing, and the car shuts off unless i stay on the gas than when it warms up it doesn't miss anymore but still has a surging idle and the car sometimes dies, but than sometimes i pull up to a light and the car will idle fine than the next second it idles poor again, some help would be great! I'm so frustrated with this, Thanks guys :sad5:

your sig doesn't mention anything about a tune? I would think with heads, cam, injectors and such that it would be needed......

That's a given. There is no way the PCM is going to adapt to these changes. Also, doesn't the C&L come with it's own MAF sensor? I'm not so certain that you can mix and match parts here.

No its just a MAF housing, I've got the C&L 76mm in mine with 24# sample tube. +1 on the tune, but do check for vacuum leaks as was already stated. When you check your timing are you taking out the spout connector? Try driving it with out the spout connector in it and see what happens.

I would definately look into replacing the dizzy then. It sounds like it's begining to go out. stay away from the msd dizzy's.

You could switch back to 19lb and your stock MAF but your going to leave a lot of HP on the table i think. You need a tune is what it boils down to. You could always look into the Moates Quarter Horse

That's what I was thinking of doing was getting the moates. The thing is, is my maf sensor is stock and i have the c&l maf housing with the 24lb sample tube, which i think is ok? Not positive though, I'm not sure how well those sample tubes work for changing injector size. also I recently turned my fuel pressure down from 39-40 to 34psi and the car idles perfect now and cold start ups are no longer a problem, so turning my fuel down to 34psi seemed to have fixed my cold start up and idle problem but the hesitation is still there, I'm going to swap my dizzy module out tomorrow to see if that helps anything.

P.s- Thank You Guys, I am very appreciative of all the suggestions and help. :) This is my favorite site by far, a lot of fox guys seem to talk smack about us 94+ guys.

Its so hard to guarantee you know whats wrong with a car over the internet. Though symptoms may sound similar, there could be something so much different wrong with it.

thats true, i'm not guaranteeing its injector timing, but i'd put money on it being a tuning issue.

my car needed the 24s to not run lean on almost identical set up, u might be lean on 19s
That is interesting because with my mods, my car runs really lean. I have 24lb injectors but I don't have the 24lb maf tube so i'm still running 19lbs. So will installing the 24lb injectors take away some of the lean mixture? A tune is of course much needed but im in the same boat as the OP, I cannot afford a tune. Sorry to thread jack.

problem found and fixed, it was my ignition coil :) Thanks Guys
damn, glad i didnt put money on that. lol.

fantom_x7 the 24# injectors will def put more fuel into the mixture, will make ur a/f ratio right? maybe, it did for me. I was able to run 19#s with 55psi, but thats really bad for ur injectors so I just did that till my 24s and sample tube came in.
