So, I have a set of OE wheels from a '96 for sale. A guy emailed me, seemingly very interested, looking for wheels for his '95.

A day later, he emails back saying no longer interested, cuz a '96 rim won't fit on the '95 without grinding out the wheel to clear the hub center.

B.S. or legit?

My '95 had '98 wheels. Anything 94-2004 will fit. The guy was either a) looking for an excuse to back out, or 2) misinformed/ignorant on the subject.

Yeah, I suspect he was looking for a reason to back out. He sent me a picture of a set of the same rims installed on a Fox-Body, claimed that he had to take a grinder to the I.D. of the wheel to clear the hub. Claims to have had the same issue with a '95. No skin off my nose, just wanted to check my facts. Thanks!

The only thing that guy would notice is the wheels will be tucked like 5mm compared a 96+ (picture is showing 8-10mm but if memory serves me from fox 5 lug conversions the 95 spindles would increase it 3-5mm over the stock fox and the 96+is like 5mm more)

94 and 95 had a different track width if I remember correctly. I had a set of AR LeMans wheels that were only made for the 94/95 year Cobra. Put them on anything else and they would hit.
