The SVT Focus fuel pump will work in the 98s; I have one in mine with no problems. I think they are good to around 400 hp by themselves, and more with a BAP.

I got a Autometer Cobalt Electric Fuel Pressure Gauge for $150 shipped.

You can always use the Vortech pump, it's a 255 high pressure/high volume pump specifically for your car. Look it up on Summit's website, it's pricey tho, but a drop in for your car with no hot rod skillz needed.

I don't think the year of SVT Focus matters. I've always just heard "SVT Focus fuel pump." That's what I got and it works perfectly. Is a direct replacement drop in. I did mine in less than 2 hours having no clue what I was doing. Not really a big deal to do.

just make sure you get the green top pump and it's a direct drop in i didn't even drop my tank the entire way i just lowered it some and then pulled the pump assembly out and then changed them out... also the AFM in-line pump kit is a really good inline kit that is simple to install and a good overall inline pump
