i want to cut my front springs today or tomorrow. I have the eibach pro-kit and want the front lower. i have a couple of questions.

How many inches of the coil shouldi cut off? i'm scared i'm going to cut too much and the springs will be junk.

Should i do the cut on the bottom coil or the top coil?

should i grind thge part that i cut flat, so it sits flatter on the control arm/ shock tower (depending on which i'm supposed to cut)

what should i wrap the spring with the keep noise down (no isolators)

thanks in advance.

ive never really cut springs...seen it done...and this is what im goin to tell ya...ive heard it done multiple times..

a spring is measured in lbs per inch so...say you have a 10'' tall spring....and it takes 1000lbs to compress it 1 inch....and then 1000lbs more to compress it another inch....and then you cut that spring in half...it will now take you 2000lbs to get that same spring to move 1 inch at 5'' tall...so in other words...you cut...youll have a stiffer ride....

now a progressive rate spring is different...say that same 10'' tall spring for example....1000lbs to compress it 1 inch and then say 1500lbs more to move to the 2 inch mark and then say 3000lbs even more to get that 3 inches of travel...

i know its kinda large numbers but they are easy to understand i think...i hope i gave you a spring lesson one on one....now you can decide what you want to do...
