Advantages?

I just wanted to know what the advantages were of a BBK CAI over the "Off-Brand" CAI at American Muscle? Almost everywhere I go, each CAI boasts between 10 and 15 HP gains (probably won't be that much, but that's just about what everyone says) but there's an obvious price difference. Anyone know why the BBk is worth it other than the name?

Pretty much you are buying a name and reputation. BBK makes some nice products that typically fit very well and are nicely engineered. Personally I have not had good luck with their CAI but that is most likely because I don't have the proper MAF.

The only possible advantage that I can thing of is the quality of the materials. I bought an off brand CAI off american muscle about 2 and a half years ago. First thing I did, was changing the air filter from the one it came with to an AEM dryflow, Another thing I noticed lately, is that the couplings used to connect the pipes together have cracked in various places, and really aren't very good quality. They've been cracked like that for over a year to my knowledge.

you can just go get some 4" pvc pipe, get some couplers on line and make your own ... its not tough, its what jlt does lol

some inspection places wont pass your emissions for not having a CARB legal intake, which is what one of the stickers that comes with a MAC CAI designates. i would assume other companies that make real cai's (not like the off-brand ebay knock-offs) do the same.

Heck of a price for the two. Plus the TB is Ford Racing, the CAI of course is a knock off but still, way good deal.
