so I guess I'll consider this my official return post even though I've been poking around for a few weeks now and during that time frame I bought this car. Some of you already know this but for those who don't here is rundown on what happened to where I am at this point.
I sold my 94 Cobra with the 95R drivetrain swap back in 2016. Was planning on getting out of Mustangs and modding cars and just move onto other things. Bought a brand new Can Am Renegade XXC 850 in the spring of 2018 thinking this would be my next thing to get into. Sold it 2 months later at a loss of $2K out of my bank account to pay it off for the new owner VS what it sold for due to the huge depreciation value of ATV's. All this happened due to wanting to get another Mustang and specifically an 03/04 Terminator. The ATV just did not fill the void of what I was missing since selling the 94 Cobra. Had a brief stint of wanting to get a GT350 instead but I knew what I ultimately really wanted was a Terminator. Starting in July 2018 my plan was to pay a bunch of extra on my F150 and pay it off early by the springtime of 2021 and then buy a Terminator at that point.
So July of 2018 to July of 2020 went pretty typically for me, was paying off huge chunks off my F150 but the already long wait of 2 yrs and looking at 9 more months to get a Terminator started to heavily weigh on me. Back in Feb / March of this year I knew of a Terminator that had been up for sale by someone I've known for 10 yrs since I first started to converse with them on this site. I said if this car is still available in a year I'll buy it. The push to sell this car was non existent due to going back and forth on selling it or not. I knew if a serious attempt to sell it was made it would sell in days. It had a lot of mods I really liked, only a little more mileage than what I was looking for and fell in the price range of where I could make the payment on this car by taking one of my 2 extra payments on the F150 that I had been making and just turn that into the Cobra payment.
Over a week things were discussed and after giving up hope of it actually being for sale I received a message in late july saying yes it was for sale. I talked to the owner on the phone later that day, applied for the loan and a few hrs later I was approved for the loan. All this happened so fast it took my brain days to unwind and for it all to sink in. Between the 03/04 Cobra's I really wanted an 04 due to the all black interior and the 9 thread spark plug thread in the heads and the fact that they made quite a few less Cobra's in 04 than in 03.
In the end I ended up buying this 04 Terminator. It has a lot of very tasteful mods. MM Coilovers, Afco cooling mods / heat exchanger / Steeda diff brace / Short throw shifter. I have a lot of plans with this car for where it is to where I want it to end up as. I plan on doing a lot of youtube content with this car if you would like to follow along to see this build you can sub to my channel in my sig.
Now the bad...... Shipping has been a bitch. The car is located in south Fl and as we all know there is that damn hurricane headed up the east coast most likely delaying the shipping on this car. As of this coming tuesday ( Aug 4th ) it will be a week that it has been available for pick up but I feel as though it is not going to ship until this storm pass's by FL and makes its way off the east coast so I'm thinking I will probably get a ship time from FL hopefully by this coming tues or weds. The waiting really really sucks after 16 years of wanting one, digging in for 2 years to get one, ending up getting one 9 months sooner than I thought...just to end up with more waiting in the end. Anyway that's enough of my ranty post, glad to jump back in as part of the community and there will be lots of pics here and videos to follow in the near future. Enjoy the pics.
