Air bag swap

I need to know If my 97 air bags will work in a 99. I changed connectors and swapped them In but the air bag light was already on in the 99 (it's a code 35 and the old air bag wasn't plugged in smh). But I was told it might not work in the new edge?

And is there anyway to reset the air bag light in a 99?

idk about 99, I know I used to have a prob when my battery would get low, it would throw an air bag light, and not go away. I reset it by using a paper clip in a gray connector under the glovebox. This is a OBD1 1994, idk if it would be different.
