mostly it will just help reduce the amount of weight your engine has to turn, i think you would definitely be able to feel it, but it's not going to be a massive difference... and i believe it will only affect your tq if im not mistaken.

isn't a stock one like 25lb and an aluminum one is 6lbs? that alot less weight to be turning

I have also read that you can take that dogbone (wishbone, whatever its called) weight off the rear end too after replacing the stock driveshaft with an aluminium one. Which equals, even less weight. I read the reviews off americanmuscle.com about them, and people seemed VERY happy with them.

I had one for awhile... it was ok. I didn't really feel it, but my car doesn't really make much power. LOL... i got beat by a 4 door honda accod the other day :nonono: I think the Stang engine is about to give up the ghost. it's ok though, i've got a 390 AND a 302 block, the 390 is for the other Stang i've got, and the 302 is for the one i drive daily... I'll throw the aluminum back on then...

Ive never lost to a Honda yet with my stang. As much as people call them slow on here, I have waxed a BMW 325i, many hondas, many ricers, V6 camero (of course, he still ran his mouth, but I layed the whipping). I raced a modified LS1, he beat me, but I was able to keep up for most of it. He was impressed my car did, because he had alot of work done to his motor and mine is stock. Maybe I got one of those freak cars that only comes by once every 4 years. Id be happy

I didnt mean I rode his ass the whole time. I ment he didnt vanish into horizon as everyone else says. It was still a kill, he just didnt pull away from me as hard as everyone said he would.

I guess our expectations are different. Having to spend thousands of dollars for one of our cars to stay beside one of them doesn't quite impress me...

the engine in the car has about 150,000 plus miles and the car was a Ford lease car it's first 9 years, so i KNOW if was beat on... I'm going to build me a new Engine, I think i'm going to go ahead and buy the Professional product heads and give them a shot, they're a a budget head, but the flow numbers i've seen look good. up there with AFR(though if i had the spare change i would take the AFR's) I'm also looking at the DSS 306 guts, and everything else i'll just swap on over to my car. I've been keeping my eyes open for an edelbrock intake to go with tht combo... I can get a block for like $50 or even free sometimes out here off craigslist, so i'll machine it, bore it, have the small block assembled, and i'll do the rest here at the house. I'm buying that driveshaft back from the guy i sold it to, and we'll see if i feel a difference on that combo.

The reason a lot of blocks from up here are cheap or free here, is because it's a Military town, so people come and go all the time, instead of taking the shit with them...they sell it cheap, or GIVE it away... I got 315's brand new for $70.

yea i have beaten a turbo civic at the track BUT, he was on low boost, stock ionternals, and he screwed up. he has beaten me too though. we ran prolly 4 times, he beat me twice, i beat him twice.

i have yet to mess with a LS1... lol. i know what my cars can hang with, and i know what it cant. bad driver in a ls1, i could prolly hang, any decent driver would put a hurtin on me.

that 14.3 in my sig, was on 255 crappy street tires with a full tank of gas. not to mention i didnt let any pressure out before the runs. alot of "street racers" think there cars can run 12 second 1/4's only to find out they are 15-16 second range. we actually have decent cars, its just a matter of spendin the money you have in the right places and understandin your competition.

I hope to get one myself soon...anything that helps the engine spin up faster is great in my book.
