ok, so, my friend recently had his Mach1 totaled, and one of the things he gave me was the shaker intake system. he said that if i can make it work, i can have it. he gave me the scoop, the factory brakets, and the tubing. now my question is how do i make it work?

i know i would have to cut the hood, so ill prob go pick up a scrap one and try it out on that one first. ive been looking online and ive seen the CDC shaker system for our cars, but its soooooooo damn expensive. at first i didnt really like it, but after looking at it again and again its grown on me, and now its a project that i must complete. hahaha :hammer:

i just got the shaker system today, but ive been looking online at the CDC kit and i cant figure out what that black piece on the hood is. and no, i dont mean the scoop, i mean the part that goes from the windshield to the pony emblem. does anyone know what this is for and if its absolutely necessary to have?

to be honest, i think this is a project thats about 10% feasible by my outlook, and if the odds dont get better anytime soon, i might not even start the project. as of now, im only on the research stages, but i would love for this to become a reality.

The black piece is just a trim piece that cover's the hole, and makes it more Mach 1-ish. It's really doable actually, you may need to fab a new hat, but that's easy with alluminum.

The part that the hood scoop sits on, the square plastic bucket, if you will.

The hoses should fit, and the airbox should be a drop in, obviously the scoop will fir right after you cut a hole in the hood. The only part's I'm not sure of is will the stock hat position the scoop correctly to come out of your hood.

oooooo, ok, i thought thats what you had mean but i wasnt sure. the way i see it, i will need to make some brackets to make the shaker bracket fit on my car, but other than that i should be set. cool, seems like i might actually make this into a project soon.

You can get aluminum straps or whatever and bend them in a vice to hold it though.
