Does anyone have a 94-95 gt (5.0) with the AODE trasmission that has a higher stall converter and a valve body? I need to know what to expect. (Perfomance wise) Also if you could list your combo's that would help out alot. I know that HP and Torque play a major role in how well the converter actually works. I just dont want to spend all this money and have the thing be a tank. (The car is a vert so it is a little heavier) Any thing that will help me is great. Thanks!!!

The difference is like night and day.

I just installed a built 4r70w with a PI converter in my stock 95 GT. The 1-2 shift is firm and quick, the 3-4 and 3-O/D shifts are seamless, I almost can barely feel when it shifts during normal daily driving. Because I'm running the wide ratio gearset from the 4r70w, I don't get lock-up, so I loose a couple hundred rpm on the freeway. Not a big deal and I haven't noticed any significant loss in MPG.

Normal daily driving is different, it seems a tad on the sluggish side under light throttle, but more aggressive/spirited driving is MUCH more responsive. It seems like the power comes on quicker than with the stock setup. There's no more waiting 5 minutes for the car to downshift before you can pass someone, the downshift is instant and the power is there right away.

You will definitely notice the difference, I'd compare it to how a car feels after you install gears.

Hope that helps...

What did you do to get the 4r70w to match up to a 95?

It's just the 4r70w guts inside the aode case (from what the shop told me).
