Anybody have smoked headlights...

That can see worth a shit at night? I've got a $50 set of sylvanias and still cant see shit. Do any of you have recommendations as to what manufacturer you've had good luck with?

I love the smoked look but its not worth it if I can't see any damn thing in my opinion.

I've already tried adjusting them up but only one light adjusts so I need a new set anyways. Anybody recommend a brand for my replacements??

I had smoked lights on my sn95 and quickly realized how I wasn't able to see jack shit at night even with HID fog lights on. Just get yourself an OEM headlight. Looks are not worth running into a pot hole and bending an A arm like I did with my old car.

I had the same issue with mine and I did mine myself so they were only VERY LIGHTLY smoked but it still cut them down to the point of barely usable. The fog lights were not smoked and that was the only reason I kept them for as long as I did.

I switched those out for the black-housing projectors with HIDs. They keep the same dark look and increase the output ALOT ALOT.

Just go with the factory headlights, i was contemplating getting some smoked ones but quickly got off that idea when i learned visibility went to zero.

Just get black housing headlights. You'll get the look you want without sacrificing light output.

i have the smoked cobra ones from american muscle and i have 8000k hids and i see just fine at night...

I have black housing. The light output wasn't sacrificed that bad and it looks good too. I have HID's in now so it definitely helps. But other people will probably argue with HID's you should have projectors. I personally agree.

i know you know this too but when you get aftermarket headlights and then hids you gotta adjust them perfect or you wont be able to see shit..

I dont like projectors either, especially on new edge cars. The stock 01-04 headlights have black housing and look excellent in great condition. They can be had off AM for 120 bucks easy and they come with bulbs

I may agree that you should have projectors but the reason why I wouldn't get projectors is because there aren't any good ones out there.

I'm really only a fan of projectors if someone can build them like single unit. Not have a separate area for hi beam and a separate area for low beam. If someone started building single units I am sure a lot of people would buy them.

I,have smoked heads/fogs both with single beam 6000k HID's and there fine at night

I've got similar headlights that lilj posted up. The smoked Cobras, but without that round amber reflector. I've probably got the same pair of silverstars that you've got in yours. I have to agree with you, the light output is no bueno.

I'll be snagging some black housing lights soon and will eventually do a projector retrofit into the smoked ones that I currently have.

I thought about hid's. But I don't want that annoying blue look. A little blue is ok, just not like ricer blue?

Yes, they fit fine in the housing, also if u get 8000k it's not ricer blue at all, it's bright with a hint of blue...
