I am thinking of doing a T5 swap and am looking around on craigslist and see a lot of 94-95 5 speed v6 cars getting parted out. Is there anything from the v6's that I could use for the swap? Pedals, driveshaft, Clutch cable and Quadrant? Would any of those parts be interchangeable v6 to gt? Thanks

From everything I've gathered in my search for parts interchangeability, EVERYTHING from the V6 will swap to the '94-'95 GT.

Including the transmission itself.

Aside from the rear axle being a 7.5" vs the GT's 8.8" setup, the two cars are *close* to identical on drivetrain. I've been told that the V6 cars have a slightly "lighter duty" version of the T5 transmission, but running the ACTUAL numbers on them at work, they both come up as the exact same transmission. Long story short, the 3.8L cars use the same base parts as the GT 5.0L.

Pedal assembly, wiring, driveshaft, etc. should be a direct swap for your car. I myself am putting a 5.0L H.O. from a Lincoln Mk VII into my car this winter, and have been toying with the idea of doing a T5 swap as well. I found a donor car ('95 3.8L 'stang) for everything I need, I just don't know if I want to spend quite that much money/labor in doing the swap. I don't plan on racing my car, mostly just planning on keeping it as a daily driver for the nice-weather months.

So, in conclusion, yes. Almost all the V6 parts will swap to your car. The one MAJOR part I know of that won't is the flywheel. You will definitely need to get one for your 5.0L, or it will throw your balance off and ruin your engine. Other parts you should keep in mind are, (not in any particular order of importance, all are needed)

* Transmission
* Pedal assembly
* Clutch master/slave cylinder
* Driveshaft
* Manual transmission EEC (computer)
* Flywheel and new clutch assembly
* Shifter
* Transmission crossmember (I believe they are different, but could be wrong)
* other misc. small parts I have probably forgotten about

If you decide to do the swap, I wish you the best of luck. It shouldn't be too difficult, but will most likely be time consuming, and possibly expensive. Keep us posted on your progress, though.

pretty much, but he cant use the computer, 94-95 v6 cars used OBDII and 5.0's used OBD1. he doesnt need a new tranny crossmember. and he should be able to have his auto computer re-flashed to act as a manual computer

+1. You could re-flash the computer for sure. Also, try to find the pedals for sale from someone. Buying them from ford is quite expensive IMO. I know the fox pedals don't work with sn95 but I don't know about 99+. Good luck, keep us posted.

and you don't need a new computer... you only need the computer for a t5 to AODE swap... The AODE computers tell the trans when to shift... since you will be shifting manually, it does not matter if the computer is telling the AODE to shift or not...

and you will need a new bellhousing... I know that the bellhousings on the GTs have 5.0 stamped in them, and the V6 bellhousings have 3.8 stamped in them... so they must be different...

And you may want to check to make sure that the input shaft is the same from the v6 to the GT...

yes, but he will have a Check engine light and his O/D light will be flashing, i have also heard that the engine will hesitate at the point where the auto tranny is supposed to shift

he can use the bellhousing, they have the same input shaft too. foxbody t-5's use a shorter input shaft and bellhousing, not the 94-95 gt's

5.0 GT's use 10.5" Flywheels and V6 use 11" flywheels so there will just be a little extra room between the flywheel and the bellhousing if he uses the V6 bellhousing on the 5.0 with a 5.0 flywheel (he will need a 5.0 flywheel anyway).

a V6 bellhousing can be used on a 5.0, but a 5.0 bellhousing cannot be used on a v6.

huh... I always wondered why there were different bell housings for 5.0s from 3.8s since the bolt pattern and all is the same... I always figured it had to be the input shaft... good info
