I had my Rear-end bearings replace with new Carbon clutch packs installed this spring and the past week i have noticed a little drone/whirring noise when taking a left or right turn going 5-20 mph. It could have been making the noise this whole time and i think i just noticed it now.

I would assume that the new clutches are still fresh and they are still being worked in and making noise because of them trying to grip.

Thanks JJ

The clutches should not be making any noise. If installed correctly they are to be soaked in friction modifier before install. I have done this tons of times and they should not have a "break in"

Yeah idk if i trust that fluid, seems like just recently someone was talking about noisy clutches using that fluid also but my memory could be a little off. talk to the installer and see what they say.

I use the Mobile 1 and also says you don't need the FM, but my rear was noisy so i added it after and it quieted the rear up nicely. pour a bottle in and see if it cures the issue.

The new carbon fiber clutches are going to make a little more noise. My buddy whos a Ford tech says he gets a lot of new Mustangs coming in from new owners who ask if the rear should make any noise.

I can't believe you guys spend the money on this royal purple stuff. Mine supposedly has carbon fiber clutches and the only time mine made noise was when they didn't add friction modifier.

Im with Chris I use two bottles of friction modifier regardless of the fluid saying it has posi additive in it. I use redline shock proof gear oil and love it. Royal purple is great too

the only reason why I use it (and suggest it) is because its the only fluid i've added thats quieted my rear end. All the others I've tried wouldnt cut the cheese.... any kind of turn and the diffy would chirp.... throw in RP (because it has the additive) and it instantly quieted it to something acceptable. RP + 1 bottle made the car run just fine in all cases except U-turns. RP + 2 bottles = flawless performance.
