Im tired of waiting for the 94/95 on3performance turbo kit. If I want, I can easily put together a good h/c/i combo in two weeks that would produce roughly around 300hp. I wanted to see how many of you are happy with your 300ish horsepower motors? or should I wait for the turbo? keep in mind, they were suppose to release this turbo in June. My patience has maxed out.

I was perfectly happy planning on putting my trickflow heads, a nice cam and keeping it naturally asperated but after hearing about the numbers this year I have moved my longterm goal to include a turbo.

Oh I highly doubt most 6's can smoke a 300 rwhp mustang. Remember, the factory numbers are NOT rwhp, they are flywheel and those cars weigh a ton more than ours do. I had just about every hp combo from 200 to 600 on the street, and the most fun I had was between 300 and 350. It's enough but it's not too much for the street. I could floor it, row through the gears, and enjoy it a lot better than the 600 hp, there was no place I could open it up, it was doing 100mph before I could let off. Just not as much fun imho. I think you'll enjoy the heck out of it. Then put a turbo on it later on down the road if you want more.

Ehh, I like my 300rwhp. Its a lot of fun on the street, and more than enough to play with. That being said, I want more now.

Horsepower is an addiction, you'll never be satisfied for long.

Turbo is just a whole seperate system you have to ADD to existing engine systems. With 300NA its a fun set up, hell I had tons of fun with my car if I didnt want to be at a particular ET then I would have kept my car together and ran it for the next couple season.

I ran 12.6's and for the most part that will take care of a portion of cars on the road. I dont expect you will be racing a whole lot so you will be fine. With 300 wheel and you can lose some weight, and get a godo suspension setup in the car, you have a good chance to run lower 12.'s if you can drive.

I think 300-350 would be a good spot to be at. Personally I can't stand working on my car more than I drive it, so it's got to be reliable, and affordable to drive. It shouldn't be a pain to drive either, that defeats the purpose of everything unless it's a weekend monster. So, i'd say 350 would be a great spot, that's what i'm shooting for eventually.

not to sound blunt, but that's a question you have to answer yourself, in regards to if you're satisfied with saying you have a "modded/built" motor, that pushes 300hp. From personal experience, the only cars that go out of their way to try and run against my car would smoke me anyway, and my car has 300hp. Most people that are serious enough to try to race you with an expectation of winning, are most likely pushing over 300-350hp. And obviously if you're building the motor to see track time, you should already know the answer to your question.

To be honest, I probably couldve been happy with a HCI 302 but the bug bit and I built a 410w instead! I do, however, have a slow DD. It's a 96 gmc z71. Not too peppy..
