So Ya, My window rolls up and down fine, but if I try to use the auto down by pressing it twice, it won't stop rolling down. It just keeps on going until I hit the up switch to stop it. I have already tried one out of another mustang, but no luck. What tells the module that the window is all the way down and it's time to stop? I've checked all data and can't find anything.

Thanks in advance!

Mine started to do that after I replaced the bushings inside the window motor. I kinda wonder whats the problem with it too.

Yes it's making a clunking sound! I think my driver side window motor gear is missing the tiny retaining clip that holds the gear down. I just replaced my passenger bushings and noticed that there was one on there. When I did my driver side motor bushing replacement, I remember the gear falling right off after I got the case off. I bet the retaining clip fell out at the same time. Where can I get one, and what size?

Ok, I got a new snap ring from the parts store installed, and it still does it....Now I'm stumped. Who knows what makes the window motor stop after the auto down is activated?

Are you talking about the motor when you said you tried one from another stang? Sounds like the chip that controls the automatic selection is bad.

No I replaced the auto down module that is towards the back of the door. The old one did have a bunch of corrosion on the terminals, so I'm thinking I need to look some where else for corrosion...?

inspect wires to ensure they are all still covered in plastic... if one is bare, and rubbing on a metal door piece, it could be shorting out or something. (just an idea)

if you went a while before replacing the bushings you probably damaged the plastic on the inside of the motor. when I replaced mine, I noticed that the plastic that the bushings set into was worn at the top from spinning inside with no bushings. if it is worn all the way down the bushings are probably spinning inside the gear motor case. pull the motor back out and look where the plastic bushing set. there is 3 groves where the bushings are. if they are not half circles all the way down that could be your problem.
