Was getting ready to replace the lower contol arm bushings....as the wheel would move forward and back between reversing and driving forward.

Wasn't the LCABs.....was ball joints. I've read that ford designed the LCA's to accept ONE ball joint replacement. True or false? These ball joints were new from the PO.

Been there, done that. Wanna buy some stock control arms on the cheap. Fairly new balljoints in them.

yes you can press in a new ball joint (unless the a-arm was damaged in some way)

get moog ball joints, if possible. otherwise OEM should last another 10 years or so.

FTS. What a PITA. Worked 8 hours on ONE ball joint....

The arm was bad, had to go pull one at the local yard (that had an almost new BJ BTW.) Whoever BEAT the last one in fubar'd arm and joint. Oh well. She's good now.

Thanks everyone....for telling me I needed a new BJ. Now if only I could get the wife to agree.
