Best H/C/I Combo?

for an H/C/I package you cant beat the Trick Flow set up. I have seen really good results with the AFR 165, FTI cam, and a preformer intake.

i have the trick flow setup on my car, and i love it. tuned i put down 300 rwhp and 315 ft lbs. it seems to work better
as far as lower cost setups go as apposed to the "3 different brands HCI" goes. not to bash on them, don't get me wrong,
but a buddy of mine has AFRs 165s, a Ford racing E303 cam, and eldebrock RPM intake, on a 92 hatch, and i will still have
him by a car length in a heavier 95. if it were a bigger motor, 351... etc. then branching out would be a good idea, but just
for bolt on power, i like the TFS HCI package.. just my 2 pennies.

From what I've gathered on the other forum the Trick Flow top end kit almost always comes up on the low end in terms of power. With a little knowhow you can easily put together your own kit that makes more power.

Well my cousin has a 91 hatch with an edelbrock package and 1 5/8 long tubes and untuned he put down 311 hp and 320ft/tq imagine if he tuned it, but he also had full msd ignition 24lb injector and pro-m 77mm mass air... this was with the performer intake so i'm gessing it is the first stage edelbrock imagine with some performer rpm2 parts like intake and heads it'll be awesome...

yea man i think edelbrock set ups are very nice and i have seen awesome results i don't know about the trick flow or afr set ups....

There is no "best" HCI setup. It all depends on your budget and goals.

I've seen a 306 put down 376 rwhp and run 11.60s on drag radials in a fox convertible. However, by the time all was said and done and he had gone through several variations of the combo, it cost over $9000 - and he did all the work himself.

That's a lot of coin.

There is no way in hell you can make 320hp with 19lb injectors. You have to have at least 27's. Do the math.

Im running the GT40 setup. GT40X heads, Explorer intake, and B303 cam and 30 lb injectors. I havnt dyno'd it with the 30's yet. Soon.

Ed Curtis can work wonders. The man is a racing genius. If you call he can set you up with virtually the same kit as the TFS, but his combo. It will probably be $100 or so more but well worth it.

He made 375 RWHP with AFR 185's and a Holley SM2 Intake on a 306!!!

I've seen cars with a hair over 300rwhp, and they're still running the 19# injectors :dunno:
as for HCI... I've been researching the new Patriot Performance "freedom SBF" heads, they are $900 fully assembled, and the flow sheet i was sent, and the reviews i've read, they sound like a pretty admn good set of heads for the price... I'm planning on picking up those heads, having an RPM intake ported, and I'm THINKING aa TFS stage 2 cam. I'll have to wait and see when the time comes what the powerband i'm looking for is before i decide on the cam.
