Most reliable modification you can with the 4r70, that's doable yourself: Jerry's mod.

I'm going to attempt this later on.

Surely a shift kit is a kinda J Mod done for you? ?
Anyways the J mod sounds good but is a bit beyond me I think. Done a bit more research on transmission deep pans. (sounds like a pizza) lol, anyways. Not up to much. Tranny cooler is next I think. Working out the one to buy. Any of you guys bought a tranny cooler recently and been impressed?

I'm about to buy one by this week because I'm putting a 3500 pi converter so my tranny is gonna be very hot I would highly recommend one because heat is one of the tranny worst enemy

your supposed to put them on the end of the outbound line from the cooler in the radiator right? If so where do you locate the tranny rad?

Just to chime in I have used the Transgo in and AOD with a 3000 stall for 90,000 miles using a B&M stacker cooler with the Spal fan. I've used a Baumann Engineering in another AOD also. I have an AODE with a Baumann kit and updated servo, mechanical diode and stub shaft with the same stacker cooler. I've had no complaints about either kits reliability and performance. I am really happy with Baumann's customer service.

Good to know. being in Europe I`m struggling to get a shipper. LMR won`t ship unless I spend more than $300. I fancied a B&M shift kit or Performance Automatic Shift kit. Looks like I`m limited to a transgo AODE-HD2.

Seems it`ll need to be good enough for me.
