I got a Pro5.0 w/ Tri-ax handle in one car and a full Tri-ax in the other. I like both but I like the Pro5.0 a little better.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that your shifter doesn't determine how notchy your shifts are. That depends on the transmission. The shifter just connects you to the transmission. Some shifters will be more loose or tight, but that shouldn't really determine how notchy the shifts are.

to a degree, the shifter makes a noticeable difference in how notchy it feels. try different shifters on the same trans and you'll see this.

I have handled tri-ax's in multiple cars, and I own an MGW.

Quality they both feel pretty close, but the feel is just so much better on the MGW.

I would say throw is about the same length, but it feels much more correct in the MGW if that makes sense. The steeda almost feels too tight/ratchety, as though you would have trouble getting it into gear.
I am ready for a ton of flaming, not a big deal. After using both I love the MGW.

As far as pro5.0, never met someone that had it so I have never used one.

I think the shifter makes all the difference as far as being notchy. Our stock shifters have big, loose, smooth patterns. The Tri-Ax is very notchy and mechanical. One of the things I like about it is that I know exactly when I am in and out of a gear, which can prevent hitting the rev limiter or grinding gears during spirited driving. My car isn't a daily driver though, maybe someone who drives their car everyday would prefer a smoother throw.

mine is a daily. Idk, I didnt like the tri-ax much when I felt them. In 4 different cars.

Loved my MGW, I was actually worried it would feel like the tri-ax.

It's got a lot to do with preference though.

I think the handle makes the "feel" of the shifter. I've never owned and MGW, I know Steeda and Pro 5.0 though and handle length and angle make a big difference.

I have to agree, length and angle makes a HUGE difference.... :tard:
