I have a prob. I bought a trick flow stage 2 cam for my car (got a great deal) and now I'm not sure if its to much for my setup.
I have trick flow twisted wedge heads with 1.6 roller rockers and .600 lift springs I've been told "it should work" LOL
well you know how that can go. the cam specs are 224intake/232exh duration with .542int/563exh lift and 112 lsa.
I heard that rule of thumb is .544 lift with 1.6 rockers is that int and exh or is it just the int I have to worry about?
Like most of us I'm on a budget and I'm not doing the work my self so don't want to pay the extra labor if it doesn't fit.
So straight up answer, whats the biggest cam you guys have heard of going in with no clearance prob's and no fly cut pistons?
Thanks in advance,Mark.

TFS 2 is too big imo.

Biggest cam is not important but what cam works with your heads/intake. Smaller cams might work better..also when it comes to lift you need to worry more about duration.

duration will have more issues with piston to valve contact then lift. the highest point of lift is not when the piston is at tdc. buy a degree kit and check it yourself or pay someone else. you should never just install a cam anyways without checking

You should check PTV clearance regardless of what cam you run but with the TW heads you MIGHT get away with that cam, just cause of how the valves are twisted. What intake are you running? Too bad I don't want to pull my Steeda #19 out cause I'd trade you.

PS. I hope you're getting a tune.

I'm Deff. getting a tune, and I'm running the TF track heat intake. I talked to the tech at trick flow told him
that I already have the cam and other parts listed and his words were they have done A lot of stock 5.0
cars with my setup and have had no probs. but never say never. he said it works but check PTV anyway.
So in your guys' opinion what "big cam" can I use? right now I have an E cam just want more dont we all, lol.

Off hand..the AFM B31 is a cam that has very good results from a few people I know.

For some reason, Rick Anderson doesn't like to give out the cam specs to his cams but I'm lucky enough to have gotten a list.

The B31 is: 218/228 @.050 .544/.544 112 LSA

I read an article in 5.0 were Rick anderson did a stage 3 build up of a 93 fox. he used (I think) the
N-51 cam,my heads,pushrods,rockers,but a pro products intake wich has an opp.range of 6500 rpm's.
the results were 321.5hp 343tq thats with shorties. well I have (I think) equivelent parts bought the track heat upper to replace my street I dont know the specs on the
N-51 but the trickflow cam is already on my shelf and got it for a 100 bucks in almost new cond. it wasent just the fact that his car has 20hp 20tq
more than mine but if you look at the dyno it carries 300hp or more from 4800 to 6100 rmp wich is pretty nice. Im on an
N/A kick for some reason.
