So my girlfriend bought me some cheap altezza verticals off of craigslist for 40 bucks. So I blacked them out with VHT niteshades. I also painted the bezels myself too. I think it really makes the car look newer, and it came out very good. Light output isnt as bright as stock tails due to the crappy reflector they have on them. But I only drive the car on weekends so I'm not too worried about it.

+note! Ordered my front tires yesterday. 265/35/18 Nexen 3000's for $260. Rear tires will be ordered on friday BFG KDW's. I'm so stoked!
Sorry for the crappy pictures, was at my moms house and didnt have my T1i.

Looks great Mike. I see you in Newport News. You go to Jenros? I've never seen the car. I live in Chesapeake.

Those will look sweet on that car. With the body kit, it definitely needs wheels with spokes that span the entire size of the wheel, makes them look bigger!

Re: Blacked out Verticals!

I just have never been a fan of Cobra's, and always wanted chrome saleens. But I am keeping the cobras for track wheels. As the 305/35/17 Nitto555's on there are brand new.

What my plans are as follows...
1)Add 18" Chrome Saleem rims and tires. Have rims, ordered front tires, rear tires $440
2)New headlights w/ 8k HIDS. (help me pick!) These ones are worn out. $100-150
3)Lower it more (just will be chopping a half coil off or so) $Free
4)UPR 3 bolt Shark CC plates $115
5)Full subframes with UCA's/LCA's $300
6)Black interior conversion with hopefully 05+ saleen seats $???
7)Repaint Front bumper (cracked paint) Maybe a new hood too? If so saleen heat extractor it is! Maybe sell the S351 for a keanan S281 $500-$700

Any suggestions let me know!

Re: Blacked out Verticals!

Dang man you must have bad luck. I drove around in my cobra almost a full year, been pulled over for other things, like no front license plate, and for speeding and never once got a ticket or a peep about my blacked out tails.

But thats why I'm keeping the horizontals, just incase :)

Re: Blacked out Verticals!

Never got pulled for the No license plate or loud exhaust. Considering i ran without exhaust for quite a while. Only got the speeding thing which i admit was my fault i know i did it. I say keep the horizontals on the car :) My car is about to get some new heads and all my parts. It should be a fun little car. We'll all have to go down to the strip once it opens up and see what we can do.

Re: Blacked out Verticals!

They look real good. Did you shoot the lights with clear after or just the straight VHT nightshade? Also did you wet sand them or something? They look really well done.

Re: Blacked out Verticals!

I'd hate to see you get rear ended, then not get shit through insurance because you have illegal taillights. That's why i dont do the tinted taillight thing anymore..

nice car.

Yeah, I understand. But really I think if someone was to rear end me. They cop would automatically just see the smashed tails and already make the other person at fault. Plus I have full coverage on it as well.

unless its a huge truck, your lights should be intact. And full coverage doesn't matter, the fact that you have illegal altered your taillights will void any coverage you have.

Yeah that's why i haven't tinted mine again. I only left the one tinted that was never lit up the bottom one on our horizontals. I don't feel like trying to avoid all the hassel. Cause it's not going to always be the cop it would also be the insurance inspector sometimes. If they see that then you could be UP SH$T CREEK!!

Re: Blacked out Verticals!

Your insurance companies must suck. I have had tinted tails for over a year and when that chic almost totalled my car, they didn't say crap about the taillights, exhaust or anything, and I have no emission stuff but we have no emission laws here :)
