Blew car up at Street Wars

Well im not sure what happened. I hit third and car just died. Now it starts but wont go over idle. It will rev up a little if I hold the throttle to the floor but is missing real bad and smokin like crazy. No noise or CEL. I checked all the plugs they are fine. Checked the coils for spark and im getting spark. Changed fuel filter and I hear the pump coming on. Only thing I can think of now is timing gear broke. Or chain. Im getting real close to emptying a clip from my 9mm into this pony. :rant:

Maybe do a compression check on it and see what that says... or if you just want to jump right in there take off the timing cover and see if the chain let go. It might be that little roll pin in there that has either popped out or broken and thats got the timing all off.

I hope this wasn't tune related Stevo, if its the shortblock thats crapped out maybe its time to ship the car South to MPH and let them install a new one and let Tim do the tune....then maybe you won't blow it up so fast.

if the timing was all off he probably would have had a piston hit a valve already. I would say headgasket or you fried some piston rings

5litrarag is on the right track. Do a compression test and this will let you know if you have a ring problem or if it is a cam timing issue or other problem.
