Went and looked it over today, and pulled the trigger.

It doesn't knock like the guy said... But it has a loud rattling noise coming from the passengers side cam cover/ timing chain cover... I'm thinking it's just a tensioner or guide.

Will get pics tommarow it's realy clean.

Nice vert.

88 thunderbird turbo coupe fresh paint, and newly rebuilt trans (just test miles on the trans) porno red interior, and only 82k(ish) on the rest of the car.

was trying to get 2500 out of it.

Did some sanding on the 00, then messed with this one...

The "knocking" sound was just a pcv valve.

And the rattling is actualy just the compressor clutch.

But, new tensioners will be on my door step tomarrow, as well as a new alternator.. Picking up a new compressor wensday and will have a nice dd for less then 2k.

Also, I don't know why I didn't realize it earlier, but this car has a drivers side oil fill, so I'm assuming this a Romeo motor? If I do decide to swap the windsor short block in, will I run in to any thing not bolting up right?

I guess the question is, will the heads and timing chain and such bolt on?

I have rebuilt a few 4.6s all of which have been Windsors. But I do know that the barrings and such are different. Don't realy remember if it was specified on the gasket kits...

A buddy of mine ran into a few issues when he replaced his Windsor(4.6) based 99 gt with a built Romeo block.. I think the
Timing cover and bolts are different, Valve covers, and maybe oil pan are different... other than that I can't remember specifics.
